algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi.

When trying to export shell elements - in this case mesh walls, to Robot, the walls only ends up as all the nodes/vertices of the mesh in Robot? Is there a way to make Robot understand that we are transferring a "panel" ? Or some other way to be able to transfer these "surface" elements?

 

In this case, I am to find the distributed point loads at some coloumns in a pretty simple construction. I have created a meshLoad pr. floor at 6kn/m2. But when I am doing a simple handcalculation of the load area, I am getting a much smaller number. So I want to check this in Robot.

 

I migth be missing a point. Any ideas?

UPDATE:

I now tried to put in beam elements and take the line loads from the mesh to the beams. T

The resultant force in the coloumns are still around 200, but when looking at the section forces I find that one of the section forces is closer to the result calculated by hand = 170 kN. I am not sure how the section forces relate to the beam element, whether 200 is at the top or the bottom.

 

Since I am not taking the selfweight into account I do not understand if index 0 = 200 kN should be at the bottom. But I notice that Karamba3d also adds "small lineloads"/pointloads to all of the sections of the coloumn elements - here 6.99. I quess this is a computation thing, but is it possible to somehow not add "lineloads" to the coloumns?
