algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Any interest in virtual RhinoPython / RhinoCommon workshop?

Grasshopper Community,

I have been talking with another fellow member, djordje, recently and it was brought up that while there is a decent amount of material for RhinoPython, there is very few resources related to using RhinoCommon with Python. A second issue was that while there are a handful of great workshops out there (which is a great hands on platform for learning and asking questions), most of them are either far away for cost prohibitive for many people.

I am proposing a RhinoPython Virtual Workshop that would take place over two weekends, and have a total of 4 4-hour virtual classroom sessions. This virtual format has many benefits. First, because there is all virtual no one has to pay for travel or lodging or a place to host the event. Second, we are not limited by the number of people who can attend. Next, because we are breaking free of the typical limits of a traditional workshop fees would be a fraction of the cost of a traditional workshop. Finally, when you leave this workshop not only do you get the files, but you could keep the whole event itself to watch again.

For course content, I would like to use the 4 courses to cover the everything from basic python (1 session) to RhinoPython (2 sessions) to basic RhinoCommon (1 session).

I am crazy about computational design and it is something I live and work in on a daily basis. In addition, to teaching at my job, I have also taught at TexFab as well. I know in the past live training where I can follow along, and ask questions has always been much more successful for my own learning than just watching videos or reading tutorials. I would like to be able to give the workshop experience to a world wide audience and not just a select few.

So, any one interested? Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

This is a great idea - keeping the cost down by eliminating travel/lodging would make it more feasible for my students to attend, and having it on the weekends would allow me and my colleagues to participate, too.

Really Interested in this too, as well as some others in the office. Making  it cheap, travel free, and on the weekends all sound great too. If you can, i would make it after the summer when people have finished with holidays and trips.
