Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I would like to ask how to use the new "Property" feature. Can I work with Style parameters such as wall thickness? Thanks in advance.

Hi Andras,

The "Property" components is used to get a VisualARQ object property value. It only allows to obtain the properties available by object type.

The "thickness" parameter of a wall is actually a property of the wall style component, so it can only be edited from the wall styles dialog. We are working to allow creating and editing VisualARQ object styles directly in Grasshopper.

Cheers,

Hi Francesc,

Thanks, actually it is really enough, exactly I am looking for to get the value only. What I do not know is the component for the Property definition, I used Value List but it supposed to be an other one...because it does not want to work.

...And an other question, can I choose width of each component ?

Hi Andras,

You have to enter a valid property name for the corresponding object type in the P input of the "GetProperty" Component. See image attached.

Regarding the other question, you can specify each wall style component width from its geometry tab, in the Wall styles dialog, (vaWallStyles command)

Thats's great thanks. It is working! (I am very beginner in GH).

Regarding my second question, I mean how to represent wall component width (instead of full wall width) ?

Is this possible?

Hi Andras,

Right now it is only possible to get the width value of the whole wall, but not the width value of one of its components. This option will be available when we allow creating and editing object styles from Grasshopper.

cheers,
