algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Video shows operation of the updated gHowl UDP Receiver, most notably, implementation of the Open Sound Control Protocol. The parameters in the Grasshopper Definition are directly controlled through an iPod Touch 2G running TouchOSC. The camera is being controlled erratically by the Accelerometer Data on the iPod Touch. gHowl is a set of interoperability components for Grasshopper.

There is a new smoothing component for the next release of Firefly! We'll be releasing it in just a few weeks, so it will be available soon.

Hey Frank! Thanks a lot. Its an interesting subject, this latency...when is real - time really operable? In this case the smoothing would be result of various averages over time to limit how much the camera target can change each update. The one great advantage to OSC (well with UDP it can be done too) is the time stamping. While I have not been too intimate with the time stamping, it could be a good piece of data for synchronization. Anyways, this seems to open up more question than answers!

what i see as a new task within GH: now that you have skipped °processing°, all that time-critical sensor data filtering (smoothing etc.) has to be done in GH, right? the camera movement could use some smoothing.... great watching you guys pushing the limits!
