Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to generate a topography surface within grasshopper using points. I would like to control the z vector of the points (independently of each other). I tried decomposing the vector I am stuck and frustrated, attached is a image of the script.

Control how? Using one slider per point? Using some equation? An image?

I would like to multiple the z of each point by its corresponding x value.

I created 40 points on the surface therefore I thought using a slider would be a bit cumbersome...i would like to learn how to do that it may come in handy.

I'm familiar with height maps my only concern is that height maps aren't parametric correct please if I'm wrong....

Currently there is no logic for the surface I want to understand how to use grasshopper more efficently...

See attached.
