Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm just putting this out here. I have to admit I haven't put too much energy into analyzing exactly what causes the problem. I've noticed several times when I've tried to create a bunch of trimmed surfaces from a series of triangles and semi-triangular clamped periodic NURBs (the ever popular triangle with smooth hole in it) that Grasshopper renders it perfectly but once I bake it,Rhino refuse to cut the holes out of some of the surfaces:

Rebuilding the individual triangles in Rhino solves the problems usually.. what am I doing wrong?

Hi Matt,

I am having a very similar problem. Did you manage to find out a solution? If I have to manually rebuild all of the surfaces it would largely negate using grasshopper in the first place.

Regards,

Michael

Sorry, I have just found another discussion which helped mine out:

Just in case you were still looking for a solution. Following David's comments in the above discussion, I turned the mesh render quality to custom in the tools -> options -> document properties -> mesh properties menu and that seems to have fixed the problem. Slightly longer preloading time to initially view each mesh but after that seems to work fine.
