Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Everybody!

I'm trying to analyze for wind one mesh but I have a problem with ecotect or GH... to analyze the wind I'm using winair4 in ecotect in this way:

1. I create a mesh in rhino

2. I export the mesh into ecotect via geco

3. I create the cells for analyze the mesh

4. I create the boundaries

5. I run the winair4 plugin.

The problem is that when I use a mesh imported from GH the winair plugin doesn't run. It only runs when I make the geometry in ecotect...

Does anyone knows where is the problem? Maybe in the way I export the mesh? (but I've tried in putting the mesh as all the types: wall, partition, floor...)

Thank you for your help!

Hi Thomas,

There is no problem with the winair4. I only put the date (as you say) at 2005 and it works.

I only want to work with a mesh imported from GH. First, with the actually date, I export the mesh, and then I change the date at 2005 for run the winair.

Hi again Amaury,

Yes, for me it's better to have this situation, but as you say, I think isn't possible. I would be satisfied if I can do what I've told you and export a mesh that works.

Hi Amauri,

Even when I use a mesh from rhino it doesn't work... it only works with geometries made in ecotect... I don't know where is the problem...

Hi Francisco,

you are right, this seems to be a bug...

couldn't fix it yet, but we'll hopefully can fix it before the next release...

for the moment a work around:

it works for me if I also generate the 3dgrid with Geco...

please take a look at the attached GH definition

Hi Amauri,

I was having the same problem that Francisco and when using the 3d grid with Geco it solve it but then I enlarged the bounding box of the 3d grid and the geometries that I'm analyzing appear scaled to the original size of the grid.

I not that involved in scripting so I couldn't find what variable to change.

Any ideas how to solve it

Hi Ursula,

Thank you very much! In the way you've said it works! It will be perfect if It was a real time flow between GH and winair but for now, for me, it's perfect!

Best Regards,

Fran!

Hi again,

Do you know if there is a way to take all the vector of the grid at the same time? At the moment I can only get the vectors of one plane... I Think maybe there is a way to put all the vector in a excel document and then export them into GH but when I open the outputs files from winair I don't see nothing for do this... Any Idea?

Thank you as always!

Fran!

Hi Fran, did you managed to get all vectors referenced back into GH?

No, I don't! I'm trying to find something in LUA (programming code for ecotect) but for the moment nothing... If you find something, please share!

Best Regards!

Fran!

Hi friends;

I did all the step too;

is there any way to import 3d point cloud vectors from volumetrics visualizations too?

I need it in 3d!

Thanks

Amir

Hi,

you have to look into the lua code and especially into GRID3D commands to call all vectors by I,J,K array
