Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I know it is not a question associated with grasshopper. But I really need some help.

I would like to find external render farm for V-ray Rhino (such as renderflow, rebusfarm ect). But they work for other applications instead of Rhino.

Do you know any render farms for Rhino Vray?

Thank you in advance.

Im using maxwell but the problem is basically the same: There is no plugin directly connecting to Rhino.

BUT: Many farms (like rebus) work on a standalone basis. So once you exported your scene to Vray, you are independent from Rhino an upload your files using the farms tools (like Farminizer)

I am not quite sure. But how to export "scene to vray" as it installed in rhino?

I do not use Vray or it's Rhino plugins for that matter. A quick search reveals, that there is a standaölone version of Vray and there is a file format for Vray scenes (.vrscene). You need to find out how to save that format in Rhino (VRay-Manual?) and than find a renderfarm that supports those files.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Dear Petras,

Concerning your doubt. You have to export your scene from Rhino as mentioned by Hannes. There are two ways:

  1. Configure your scene for Vray (Lighting, Textures, etc....) and make a render test in local - BUT therefor you have to have installed Vray4Rhino on your machine - and send the previously configured final Rhino-scene to us (by the way we are the above mentioned renderfarm www.RenderFlow.com) We take your uploaded scene, pass it through our Rhino and Vray and send it to render. BUT we do not configure anything, we just calculate the render.
  2. The other possibility is - with standalone licenses at the renderfarm - that you configure the scene for Vray - you, again, have to have installed Vray4Rhino but NOW you export NOT the Rhino-scene but the Vray configurated scene as .vrscene and send that to your renderfarm which uses a standalone Vray.

We at RenderFlow prefer method 1.) as it permits better post render customer support in case that the final render differs from your expectations.

In case 2.) you will have to repeat the whole procedure from configuration to .vrscene export in case that you are not satisfied with the final result.

Vray4Rhino you can get from Chaos Group http://www.vray.com/vray_for_rhino/ or http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/downloads.html?s=v-ray-rhino

We hope we could help to clear some doubts. At the moment we support Rhino offline as we are working on implementation of the same automatisms as we offer by now for 3ds max and Blender. For any doubts don´t hesitate to contact us at info@renderflow.com

It is not possible to find vray standalone versions... Could you help me?

I suggest you contact Chaos Group directly. The email address for this specific subject is renderfarm@chaosgroup.com. They should be able to give you all the information about commercially available renderfarms for V-Ray for Rhino.

If you get an answer, I too would be interested to find out what is out there.

We can help you with our flexible render service / online renderfarm rental concept. We configure your desired renderfarm individually and give you the possibility to remote completely your render jobs via vnc connection or work interactively with your software. For more informations feel free to contact us or visit our internet site www.prorender.de (only german). We can also speek english quite well.
