Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

How do I go about this. I want to make a definition that uses Galapagos. My intent is to have simple 2d drawings made of points and lines in grasshopper, but then use Galapagos to adjust the shape based on a set are I want, but I want Galapagos to adjust the area to best keep the shape its adjusting proportions. Essentially if i'm using an elongated rectangle when Galapagos adjusts area I want it to still be an elongated rectangle not a square of any other random shape. hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Hi Michael,

So if I understand right, what you really want to do is to have multiple parameters in your fitness value> when working in such cases I use a single equation (providing a unique fitness value) that takes into account all the parameters through  weighted factors .thus I try to maximize/ minimize this number or target it into a certain value. most of the times it works...

You should define the proportion of the rectangle as the fitness function, and then divide the length of the curves, the long side of the rectangle and the short side of the rectangle, then you can set the solver to run and maintain the proportion (maximizing the fitness function). If there are other variables in the problem, you will have to adjust your fitness function accordingly.
