Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is the image from the discussion:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/kangaroo/forum/topics/simulating...

the attached GH definition seems to be edited,

"...sorry, it was my fault i played with the definition and it didn't work. now i solved the problem and it works again.,..."

(anyway, maybe someone can fix the attached definition)?

After setting the mesh and the curve as they are in the rhino file, still I am receeving a strange output.

could somebody give me a hint, what to modify in this definition to get it started?

the definition I am looking out should work with quad meshes not (only) with triangulated meshes.

the two origin files are attached

That's odd. The 3dm and ghx you posted give me exactly the same result as in that top image.

If you just open both files without changing them at all (no need to set the mesh and curve), set the RESET toggle to false and start the timer, it should be the same. Is this not the case ?

Hi Daniel,

No I don´t get the correct solution.

Gh version:0.8.0052

KangarooPhysics0066

Wb

are my installed components

what could be the matter?

Hi Daniel,

I tried reinstalling the KANGAROO component, in case somethiing went wrong there.

GH starts without any errors.

Loading then the file, exactly as you say, the solution still hangs,

see the attached screenshots.

Any other hints?

Hi Daniel,

I still don´t get ahead with this.

Why is there no input for the mesh that gets decomposed,

(it´s highlighted orange)

using another definition for triangulated meshes

(from the link sent above) the mesh starts inflating but rotates away (torque) if I

set a ellipsoid mesh at the start.

Actually I am interessted in the behaviour of a ellipsoid mesh with a inner structure

(like a zeppelin) which struts translating bench too.

Ah, i see. You are missing the mesh explode component.

Get the file meshedit 1.0.9.0 from UTO (http://utos.blogspot.com/p/downloads.html)

then all should work

Ok I see,

now my only problem would be to avoid having triangular mesh faces,

so far it runs now (finally),

didn´t know except of the components listed above which part was missing.

thank you
