Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey Guys,

Been experimenting with a lot of softwares and  using Geomagic Wrap atm to extract surface from scan. I have done that, and I export it as an .IGS file. When I open this file in Rhino, I get individual surface patches. I try to merge them using MergeSrf command and only a few surfaces that seem aligned merge, the rest the edges seem to be too far apart.

I want to merge all the surfaces and then rebuild the mesh groups and then import that surface into grasshopper and apply a pattern.

I have tried to join surfaces using the join and joinedge commands but when that is done the combined surface in no longer recognised as a surface, why is that?

If there is any other way that you might think is applicable, please let me know.

I have attached .IGS file, please get back to asap,

Thanks

Those surfaces can't be merged to one single surface!

You probably can rebuild then!

Would you know how?

MergeSrf only merges surfaces that meet these 3 conditions:

1. Each surface is planar

2. The collection of surfaces are co-planar

3. The collection of surfaces connect at edges

Is there a way to merge these?
