Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

bake and then load points with their data tree trough e.g. geometry pipeline

Hey everybody,

I am just wandering whether it is possible to bake for example points into Rhino and load them by geometry pipeline with their data tree they had before baking?

Maybe even bake them automatically and upload them in grasshoper again so I could manually manipulate each point I want in Rhino.

Any help is much appreciated.

if you bake geometry with the "bake" component from human, you have the option of "preserve data trees" in the right-click menu. Then when you load geometry back in (via the dynamic pipeline or the normal geometry pipeline) you can use the "reinstate tree" component to put the tree structure back in place on your data.

Ahhh I see.... I need the newest version of human ;) That's such a nice function! Thanks I got it done.

Is there also something implemented in human now that allows me to create a new layer, if the new layer doesn't exist in rhino yet?

Hey Andrew I have found an error maybe(or just don't know how to use the component right) with the pipeline component. Every time I load the points in grasshopper it copies the same points once, so I have the double amount of points.

See attached the two list before the loading and after with the double amount of points

Do you need the file too?

Hi Andrew

still didn't get the redundant Point baking problem done.

Do you have any clue why that happens. I also tried to flattern all points and still has the problem.

I overcame the problem with cull points after loading in GH again, but that can't be a permanet solution.

Thanks for all you help.
