Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello forum! I new here and Im starting to learn grasshopper.

Im currently making a topographical analysis with a triangulated mesh. A very simple mesh.

I have been wondering around the threads looking for a definition that could calculate the slope angle of each triangle but no look so far.

If anyone has the time and wants to help me with a sample definition that would be great.

I have uploaded a 3dm file to containing my mesh for you guys to see what I mean.

Thanks in advance,

Shynn

I'm not sure this is what you want.

Hey, thank you for taking the time. I think thats it... nice touch adding the text. Im not really getting why the angle between a Z component and the normal of the mesh would give me the slope though.

Because in most representation Z axe refer to the gravitation representation and is perpendicular to the horizontal. Normals is perpendicular to the surface at a given point
So it is similar to speak of angle between surface and horizontal to z (or whatever your gravitation vector is in la) to the normal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(slope)

So its calculating the angle between the Z unit vector and the normal of each mesh face, which stands for the slope of the whole face. That unit Z vector is placed in every barycenter and so is the normal.

I understand now, thank you both!
