thanks!

Hello,

I am encountering a problem with the Beam View component.

It works fine when the Render Settings is enabled on Cross section, but if I change it to Displacement, Utilization or Axial Stress, the component turns red and the error message is "1. Solution exception:Unable to find an entry point named 'CSharp_CroSecStrain_at__SWIG_0' in DLL 'karamba'."

I am using Karamba 1.0.3 with GH 0.9.0061 and Rh5.

Also, in order for some components to work properly, I refer to the karamba.gha file of the Karamba1.0.3.1_Hacker'sEssentials\C#\TensionElim.

Are their any suggestions to solve this?

Thx

Lara

Hello Lara,

this sounds like your 'karamba.gha' and 'karamba.dll' files belong to different versions of Karamba. You could try to uninstall and reinstall version 1.0.3 or switch to version 1.0.4. Your scripts that run with Karamba 1.0.3 should also work with 1.0.3.

Best,

Clemens

This is what I get from "karamba.ini", now I use "centimeter" unit in rhino model, as well as grasshopper.

UnitsSytem = "SI"
# UnitsSytem = "imperial"

Karamba Analysis diagram is very big!

How can I adjust it?

Thanks!

Dear Qiushi,

what do you mean by 'Karamba analysis diagrams'? Charts of the section forces of beams? You can scale these and other sorts of output via the ModelView- and BeamView-components (see manual).

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Even I changed the scale to very small, the diagram still much bigger than the model.

I think maybe something wrong with the "unit".

If my model is in "centimeter", how can I adjust the "unit" of karamba?

Thanks!

Hi Qiushi,

double-clicking on the knob of sliders lets you set their value-range. C.

Hi Clemens,

Thanks a lot!

It works!

I still curious about the "unit" adjustment of karamba to fit the rhino or grasshopper model. could you explain a bit?

In the 'karamba.ini' you can switch between imperial and metric units. It lets you also set the format for the display of numbers (e.g. fixed number of digits or scientific notation). C.

Hi Clemens,

do you think is possible to modify the section force color such to see different color if the values are positive or negative?

I would like to see something like in the link below

http://design.rootiers.it/strutture/sites/default/files/users/Giaco...

I think it could be usefull to have in grasshopper!

I found this on karamba.ini but I don't know how to modify it.

crosec_force_color_Nx = LightSalmon
crosec_force_color_Vy = LightGreen
crosec_force_color_Vz = LightSkyBlue
crosec_force_color_Mx = Red
crosec_force_color_My = SeaGreen
crosec_force_color_Mz = CadetBlue

Best,
Marco

Hi Marco,

in version 1.1.0 it is not possible to define different colors for positive and negative section force values. However this would be a nice feature for the next release.

You can use any of the standard C# color names instead of those listed above (see e.g. http://www.flounder.com/csharp_color_table.htm).

Best,

Clemens
