Hello guys,

Is there any direct way or componenet to solve a parabolic equation in grasshopper ?

y = a*x^2 + b*x + c

Thank you ..

Do you know x, a, b, c?

Thank Danny for your reply,

I know that you need to solve this euqation and know a, b, and c .. and then for every x you can calculate y ..

Im not very experienced in GH, and this is my first time i am using the mathematical equations in GH ..

My question is "can grasshopper solve it directly ? meaning that does GH gives a, b, and c for such euqation ? if yes based on which input and which data ?"

Thank you ..

Is this what you are expecting?

The top is made up of individual GH components and the bottom is an Expression component where you add your own equation and parameters

OR are you expecting a solution where GH will solve an unknown a,b,c

In case you do want to solve for unknown a, b and c, here's a Galapagos approach based on Danny's logic:

Alright, thank you guys, that's very useful .. now i see that in the below component given by danny i can add whatever mathematical expression i want .. and using galapagos in David reply i can solve it by an iterative process ..

Thank you so much guys for your help ..
