Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I'm fairly new to Ladybug and Honeybee and I have been running issues with Honeybee Mass2Zones command.

Everytime I designate brep into zone masses this error occurs:

does anyoneknow how to solve this issue?

{0;0}
0. Runtime error (KeyNotFoundException): honeybee_OpenStudioStandardsFile
1. Traceback:
line 4188, in assignScheduleBasedOnProgram, "<string>"
line 4172, in __init__, "<string>"
line 91, in main, "<string>"
line 109, in script

Thanks a lot!

Hi Wesley,

Thank you for posting here.

I can confirm that you are getting this error because your OpenStudio json file does not load up correctly when you let Honeybee fly for the first time.  First, I should ask as a point of habit: have you let both Ladybug and Honeybee fly by dropping them both onto the canvas?  I do not see them in the image that you uploaded and I ask just in case.

Second, if you have let both fly, do you have a file called OpenStudio_Standards.json in your C:\Ladybug folder or in this folder:

C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ladybug

If not, something might be blocking the download of these files in the background and we may have to have you copy the files into these folders manually.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Yes. I do have both Ladybug and Honeybee flying in the corner. However, I do not have that OpenStudio_Standards.json file in my Ladybug folder.

My email is also wes.jeon@gmail.com.

Thanks again for quick assistance!

Hi Wesley,

Ok.  This is a good sign that we are on our way to fixing this.  Try pasting the attached file into C:\Ladybug and C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ladybug.  Then restart Rhino and Grasshopper and see if you still get the error.

Hi Chris,

I placed the .json files into those two folders but I still get the error.

Also, quick note : The honeybee flying command also says it has failed to download the master template?

3. Download failed!!! You need OpenStudioMasterTemplate.idf to use honeybee.
Please check your internet connection, and try again!

Hi Wesley,

Ok, we seem have found the problem, then. Are you behind a firewall that blocks the automatic download?  In any case. There is a workaround

You will have to download the openstudio libraries here:

https://app.box.com/s/y2sx16k98g1lfd3r47zi

and then copy, paste and unzip them here:

C:\ladybug\openstudio

and do the same thing in this location:

C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ladybug\openstudio

Next, you will have to download the Master Template here:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16228160/honeybee/template/Open...

and paste it into your C:\Ladybug  folder and C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ladybug

Then try restarting Rhino and GH and see if you still get the error.

It worked like a charm!

Thanks so much Chris, great tutorials by the way.

Glad to hear it!  Thank you!

Hi Chris! Great work btw and great tutorials!!
I have the same problem but I didnt even have the folder ladybug in my C directory. I created it and I did the procedure that you described but still the same problem.
Is that what I had to do?

Hi Zithbbtbw,

You can download all the files that Ladybug and Honeybee need from this link: (https://app.box.com/s/bh9sbpgajdtmmystv3n4).

If there is no c:\ladybug on your system then look for ladybug folder at: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Ladybug

Mostapha

Are these files still valid to use? They are from 2014.

I get this issue with missing libraries every time I do a HB-LB reinstall, on different OS - same hardware. Really strange.

Hi Ludvig,

This is strange. You can download all the files from github under resources folder: https://github.com/mostaphaRoudsari/Honeybee/tree/master/resources

Hope it helps,

Mostapha
