First some drawings on paper with a non-parametric pen. 

After that I made 3 different Chrysalis in rhino, linked them with the bridge command of Tspline. After that i rebuild the curves of the volume to make a loft surface, on grasshopper i use the map on surface to put the pattern. It's tree simple phyllotaxis voronoi. Link all the pipes with weaverbird and send that to shapeways...
