Cluster - String Output Fail
1 Reply

I'm having a bit of an issue with outputting strings from a cluster. The cluster does let me attach wires to it... and the output fails. This a bug? Or do I need to do something? In my example the in…Continue

Sub Layers
7 Replies

Rhino defines layers and sub layers as "Layer::Sub-layer1::Sub-layer2" yes?I immediately assumed that I could bake to a Rhino sublayer using this same syntax. This is not true. I'm using plug-ins…Continue

test string equality
3 Replies

My goal: Grab a bunch of random geometry in separate layers created in rhino, reference it in grasshopper, and create a list of layers (strings) that represent that selected geometry. Ultimately I'd…Continue

Data Matching two tree's with different structure
2 Replies

So I h ave two trees that have different similar structure in the {A} level, but one has a {A,B} structure, and i want the component "intersect curves" to match the curves based on {A}. Ultimately, I…Continue

Ladybug

Ladybug is a free and open source environmental plugin for Grasshopper to help designers create an environmentally-conscious architectural design. Ladybug allows you to: import and analyze standard weather data in Grasshopper; draw diagrams like Sun-path, wind-rose, radiation-rose, etc; customize the diagrams in several ways; run radiation analysis, shadow studies, and view analysis for your design inside Grasshopper!Ladybug only works on Rhino 5.0. Unfortunately, there is no version for Rhino…See More

Octopus

Octopus is seen as an extension to Galapagos by introducing multiple fitness values to the optimization. The best trade-offs between those objectives are searched, producing a set of possible optimum solutions that ideally reach from one extreme trade-off to the other uniformly. Results are shown in a two- to five-dimensional, 3D-navigable solution-viewport. User-preferences on specific solutions can be specified when the optimization is paused, so the further optimization gets densfied around…See More

Hey Will, would there be an opportunity to help out with this design you are working on? I would be interested in sitting in to learn a few things. Let me know, thanks.

Its only a 3 axis router, sorry.

Well that's interesting! I am sure I can be of some help with that. My new company is Island CNC. I have a 6' x 10' router that can cut aluminum, plastic, wood...etc. no steel though. I don't have a website, that will take time. I can be reached by phone at 250-208-2945 or e-mail at info@island-cnc.com

I'm not a naval architect, but I do like to model boats, and I'd like to do more projects. I recently worked on the Nomad buoy while at titan: http://www.axystechnologies.com/BusinessUnit/AXYSMarineEnvironmentalMonitoring/MetOceanWeatherObservingPlatforms/NOMADBuoy/tabid/114/Default.aspx

I modeled, developed and nested parts to be cut with waterjet. This project worked out really good, all parts went together nicely. I actually used grasshopper to help me create the hull plates. Awesome tool, thanks David!!

Hi there! Up until recently I have been working for Titan Boats. While there I created a parametric grasshopper definition that lets me make and analyze a 3d lofted hull. Grasshopper is defiantly an awesome tool! I have not heard of SALTS, I work mostly in manufacturing. I'd like to do more boat design, I have a cnc router now that I can use to cut material for my projects. I live and work in Sidney....

thanks for your feedback......the system brick system is the only part designed by me, the grid/plate system is an as-built.

cheers
