wannes lernout replied to Jung In Seo's discussion inflatable question in the group Kangaroo
"Jung, I checked your file and I think your cables called 'connections' are not physically linked in rhino to your mesh."

wannes lernout replied to Roig's discussion kangaroo planarize in the group Kangaroo
"Dear Daniel, I have no examples but if I insert for example five random points to the vertices input of the planarize component (planarize any polygon) it has this runtime error; "Solution exception: Method not found 'Boolean…"

wannes lernout replied to Roig's discussion kangaroo planarize in the group Kangaroo
"Antonio, I think the planarize component doesn't work in kangaroo 0074 but it does in 0066. I checked your files; and i've noticed that you; - need to connect a timer to the kangaroo engine - need to add spring forces (only planarize…"

wannes lernout replied to Roig's discussion kangaroo planarize in the group Kangaroo
"Antonio, Sometimes, when something (in this case 'the planarize component') doesn't work, especially when you've tried every possible connection, it means that it DOESN'T WORK! I'm assuming you're working with the…"

Thijs van der Lely commented on wannes lernout's blog post REMAKE of "upside dome by Gijs Van Vaerenbergh"
"Hi, I was wondering if you had a screenshot of how your kangaroo model is conected to the points. When I open the file it errors and removes the Kangaroo components. Thank you"

wannes lernout replied to OwnWindow's discussion Different stiffness for compression and tension in the group Kangaroo
"Ownwindow,   Do you mean, assign to the same curve a tension force and a compression force? Or assign one curve with a tension force and another curve wit a compression force?   Both are possible, but the first is maybe a strange way to…"

wannes lernout replied to Roberto Maffei's discussion simulating the inflation of any shape with kangaroo in the group Kangaroo
"HEy Roberto,   I've changed the definition to meet your needs! Be sure to triangulate your mesh in rhino and if you join meshes, check the direction of the mesh normals!   If you keep the inflation pressure low and the mesh resolution…"

wannes lernout replied to Roberto Maffei's discussion simulating the inflation of any shape with kangaroo in the group Kangaroo
"HEy Roberto,   I've changed your definition for the simple box mesh so that it works like it should. (since there are no anchor points, you'll get a perfect sphere) I couldn't understand what you where trying to achieve with your…"

REMAKE of "upside dome by Gijs Van Vaerenbergh"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ_zZN-XPzw

Because I really liked the installation called "Upside Dome by Gijs Van Vaerenbergh", check out his website, I modeled it with Kangaroo (Daniel Piker). I've used less catenaries in the video.
I've attached the GHX and 3DM files.…

GHX of catenary shelter (in video section)

Because I couldn't succeed in uploading a file in a comment to my own video and because Arthur asked for the ghx file, i had to add this blogpost.

surface deformation using GraphMapper

GH tool to manipulate a four-point surface with the GraphMapper.

I'll attach the file in the comment. (I fail to discover how to attach a file in this blog)

Let me know what you think of it!
