HiI am having trouble with the simple tashk of exporting my mesh to ecotect... It looks like all the mesh is loading(in ecotect)... but then only ends up with one panel...The mesh was previously a…Continue

"Hi Megan, I am on Kangaroo right now. I think what you need is to add some "slack" to your rest length. You are probably using 0 right now as your value? If you use a bit more it will release the mesh area a bit more (0 would mean minimum…"

"Sure, Hannes is absolutely correct. I've attached how to emulate these ridge elements in StructDrawRhino. Note you probably want to apply different ridge strengths to different ridges, at the moment SDR doesn't enable this.  But…"

"I don't get what you are pointing out with "Not tense" The meshes relaxed form depends on stiffness and resting length of the springs. Where resting length acts as the relaxed length of your nylon model mesh. Stiffness of the nylon…"

tensile membrane facade

Hey guysI designing a structural tensile membrane skin (see image).I am trying to digitise this using mesh relaxation-Kangaroo, however even by altering the stiffness of the mesh I cannot get the mesh to be tensile and act as it does in the model. Could someone give me some help, perhaps I need to try geometry gym.. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated See More

"Hi Megan, It is hard to help without the files... From your description, it seems like you need to "flatten" and then "join" your meshes before exporting it."

"You need to install Uto plug-in to make solar-gain or sunpath vector attractor. I've been made some modification with your definition, maybe can help you little bit to understand it. "
