"Hi David I've been trying but think this is a bit beyond my Grasshopper capacities. Because some meshes have multiple planes that I want to keep, and some only one, it's hard for me to figure out a way to filter. I've attached a GH…"

"You will always end up with the top and bottom face, one of which you want to keep and one of which you want to discard. This will almost certainly be a manual operation. You can however get rid of the extrusion faces through Grasshopper. Either…"

Reduce solid mesh to simple planes

Hi allI have offset a mesh to produce a steel part drawing, but lost the original mesh/surfaces through a dropbox error. Is there an easy way to get back to the original, non-solid meshes or surfaces (i.e. reduce the polysurfaces or poly-meshes to simple planes?)See file attached. See More

"Not a problem, I assumed that it was probably better to work in layers rather than groups as well - now to figure out a way to automate the process of assigning the curves to layers!"

"I've attached it - I can get it to export to DWG by layer, but not by group - it also ungroups all the curves. "

"Hi guys, seems like a great tool, but am currently struggling to get it to read curves which are inside groups - is there a workaround for this?"
