Test if a curve is within another curve

I have a collection of closed curves. Some of these closed curves are contained within another curve. I simply want to sort my list of curves into 2 separate list.1) Curves that are not contained…Continue

"wow! i really need this! Is there any way to get to to drop it "normal", assuming original is a flat object and you are dropping it to a curved surface and need it tilted to the normal direction of the surface? "

"Thanks man, that worked! :) I had already solved it with a much more complicated one...will use your solution."

"One solution that comes to my mind: project all surfaces on flat (horizontal or vertical) one then have some with 0 area and some with more than 0 - here is your culling pattern."

Sort surfaces between horizontal or vertical.

I should be able to ask this question without posting a picture.I have a closed brep that consists of horizontal and vertical surfaces.I have exploded the brep and now I want to get only the horizontal surfaces? So I need to make a cull pattern that sorts my surfaces to two lists of horizontal and vertical surfaces.Does anyone have a quick (I assume) sollution?See More

"Ahh, thank you. My tree was only at a second level of branching {A;B} so this did the trick. {A;B}     ->     {A} As I understand it correctly, it takes all the B branches in each list and flattens them onto a single branch…"

"You don't need flatten at all. Just use List Length on the entire tree and you'll get lengths for each branch in the tree. -- David Rutten david@mcneel.com Poprad, Slovakia"

Branch item count

I have 10 branches in a tree. In each branch I have a collection of points. What I want to find out is how many points there are in each branch.I can get the amount of total points in the whole tree by flattening it and doing list length. But is it possible to flatten only the branches and then do a list length that will give me the number of points in each branch?See More

Test if a curve is within another curve

I have a collection of closed curves. Some of these closed curves are contained within another curve. I simply want to sort my list of curves into 2 separate list.1) Curves that are not contained within another curve2) Curves that are contained within another curveThe reason why I want to do this is because I am offsetting all my curves to make a roof edge and I want the curves in the contained list to offset outwards, and the not contained curves to offset inwards. Right now I am sorting my…See More
