Brian Loudon replied to MGuin's discussion mesh inflations modeling and calculations with units in the group Kangaroo
"Hi Daniel, thanks for responding so quickly! So, just to avoid confusion, the input should be; (in kg, m, s) (density in kg/m3) x gravity (ms-2) / 6   dividing by 6 as in the above case with the pressure level? thanks again, apologies…"

Brian Loudon replied to MGuin's discussion mesh inflations modeling and calculations with units in the group Kangaroo
"Interesting point about the Pressure level! Can I ask if there is a similar issue with the Hydrostatic component? I'm actually looking at a flexible membrane's geometry (not worried about forces at the moment) with a pressure component on…"

Brian Loudon replied to Carlo Rousseeuw's discussion To high spring stiffness causes model to "explode" in the group Kangaroo
"really interesting to see your feedback here on the accuracy of kangaroo for real loads. I've found it great for early stage concept work too."

Brian Loudon replied to Ash Sechler's discussion Units for stiffness and force in the group Kangaroo
"That's certainly the approach I've taken, it would be interesting to see the results of any validation you carry out of a kangaroo model."

"Hi Brian, Could you share a.GHX about how to use this command. I've tried many times about there was no any effect. thank you"

"thanks for that, yes I've used the face normals now to check things, my dynamic mesh was all facing outwards, but something isn't right in my springs on the edges. I haven't worked out quite what yet though, I've found that if I…"

Daniel Piker replied to Brian Loudon's discussion Hydro Pressure - Direction in the group Kangaroo
" btw - you can use the face normals component to check this. If these arrows all point the same way, then the resulting pressure force should also have a consistent direction "

Brian Loudon replied to Brian Loudon's discussion Hydro Pressure - Direction in the group Kangaroo
"Hi Daniel, yeah, I suspect that is the problem, I've created a handcrafted mesh as I'm creating different zones in a fabric bag, and I want to be able to manipulate the rest lengths and stiffnesses  of these zones to form find what…"

Daniel Piker replied to Brian Loudon's discussion Hydro Pressure - Direction in the group Kangaroo
"Hi Brian, That's odd, when I test it setting the fluid density to negative works fine to reverse the direction of pressure. Are you sure your mesh has consistently oriented normals ? Maybe try some mesh fixing functions on…"

Brian Loudon replied to Daniel Piker's discussion Licensing thoughts in the group Kangaroo
"Hi Daniel, interesting discussion. For me I think a key pro to this idea would be being able to understand and interrogate the accuracy of the simulations that you end up with in kangaroo. Your goal of creating a system that embeds physical rules…"

Hydro Pressure - Direction

Hi, I'm rapidly becoming a heavy user of kangaroo, thanks Daniel!Quick question on the hydro component; how can you change the direction of this force to be inside rather than outside an object? I've tried making the 3 input points  cw and ccw, I've also tried making the density negative but the results are always the same.best,BrianSee More
