algorithmic modeling for Rhino

There are duplicate names in input zones. Zone names cannot be duplicate. Rename the zones and try again!

Hello everyone,

I have been watching Chris's energy modeling videos and its really great thanks Chris for the effort.

I'm trying honeybee and ladybug for the first time to run energy analysis for a small hotel but i have faced that issue....

1. There are duplicate names in input zones. Zone names cannot be duplicate.

Rename the zones and try again!

Hope you guys can help me with that...... thanks a lot

Use zoneNames input in Mass2Zones component and name the zones!

Hey Mostapha,

Thanks i tried that before didn't pay attention that i have to change the panel to multi-line and name all the zones included.

Some floors on the first floor is set as exposed floor i guess because i set multiple Breps but i did that to give different zone programs according to function, is there another way to fix that.

Also runEnergySimulation didn't work giving that error:

1. Solution exception:'hb_EPFenSurface' object has no attribute 'shadeMaterial'

This is an issue with using different versions of honeybee. Update all your components to the latest version and it will work fine.

Updating versions will also fix the duplicate names issue in cases of unassigned names.  I added in some code a few months ago that gives better names to the zones by default.

Hey,

Thanks Mostapha and Chris, ya i updated the versions but still some errors still coming up like.

1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:

** Severe ** Problem in interior solar distribution calculation (CHKBKS)

Regarding the zone names i had to change it manually by typing in into a panel.

One more thing i ran annual energy simulation than linked the cooling and other outputs to ladybug 3d chart but only 6 or 4 months appeared and the rest didn't

1. You have non-convex zones or surfaces. Search the forum for the error and you'll find the solution.

2. Check the idf file and see if the running period is set to annual. It doesn't look like so.
