Kangaroo 2 solver not working: "1. Solution exception:Method not found: 'Int32 KangarooSolver.PhysicalSystem.GetIterations()'."

Hello,

I get this message from the solvers on installing Kangaroo 2. Does anyone know what it means?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Which version of Rhino are you using?

Is this the first time you've installed Kangaroo2 or did this error show up when updating to the new version?

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for looking at this.
I'm using Rhino Version 5 SR12 64-bit (5.12.50810.13095, 08/10/2015).
I have tried for the last few builds to get Kangaroo working and it's been giving this message.
However I had been able to use a solver.dll from the last working build (241 I think) to get most of the components working - but I think that (bad) workaround means several components are unavailable for me.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Based on that error message, the component is loading a version of the dll from earlier than version 2.3.0 (since that's when that method was added).

My guess is that you have extra copies of the dll somewhere, such as your downloads folder. Try doing a search in explorer for KangarooSolver.dll. Keep the current one in your libraries folder, double check it is unblocked, and delete all other copies of this file.

Daniel -

I just saw that you responded. That seems to have fixed it- there was a stray .dll in the user objects folder for some reason.

Thanks-

Kevin
