Surface Split with Brep-Plane intersection not yielding planar surface edges

Hello,

I am attempting to create a trimmed surface patch with a planar boundary, but when I use the Plane-Brep Intersection curve to trim the Brep, it deviates from the plane substantially so that I cannot perform a radial sort of points along its edge.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Ben

without a definition to check my best guess would be that

Increasing the input S (number of spans) of the patch input might give you more accurate result.

default value is 20. try something like 40-50 and what happens.

Hi Alex,

Thanks a bunch for your response.

I maxxed it (my computer that is) out to 100 spans, and it had a noticeable effect on the results but it was still not flat enough to use a radial sorting operation on the edge, but great to know.  I ended up just projecting the points I needed to a plane and used them to sort my curves to be attached to the surface.

Thanks again,

Ben

sounds like a great solution

cheers
