Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey, I am very newbie on Grasshopper, just modeled manually this form (image 1) and would like to do some holes on it like image 2. Had no clue how to do it. The form is a mesh, which I converted to polysurface. Let me know if anyone can help me with anything. It is for an assignment, I am kinda desperate.

It must be model with a surface triangular mesh, not a volume. The mesh could be Remeshed by mesh machine and after that it is transformed via dual mesh and solidified via Cocoon, exoskeleton, intralattice...

You can buy it on I materialize :-) 387€ :-(

Some images to explain

Here with a surface heart

Remeshed with Meshmachine

The trick is to use Meshdual and also to have the border and the connexions with the dual mesh (curves polygons).

The 0.18 Point On Curve is used for Cocoon, it must be 0 or suppress with other line thickening tools.

A solid brep, I didn't cut the edges of BREP so there are some bulges.

Putting fixed curves and fixeed points helps Meshmachine.

Hi Andre:

I used to use a program called TopMod the other is Wings3D. Both of these programs

had routines that allowed geometry connections of 2 faces to be made, which had no prior connection. Much like the bridging that years later is now taking place in addons like "T-Splines"

Here is a video of the making the star ball using TopMod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SUjZITJIOw
