Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I've been holding off purchasing a 27" 4K monitor because I was concerned that icons & text would end up too small to read. By chance I just stumbled on this page that explains how to tweak your system so screen objects get scaled properly:

The tweak requires adding a line to the Registry and then adding a text file named <application exe file name>.exe.manifest to each directory containing the executable program you want to have re-scaled. The contents of the manifest.txt file are shown here:

Overall this looks pretty simple to do. The feedback seems to all be positive. Looks like it's time to get out the old checkbook.....

Hello Birk,

Did it work for your grasshopper?

I don't know yet. I haven't got the 27" monitor yet but I did but I did make the registry  etc. changes to my system. I saw no real change to anything as a result, so at least it didn't do anything bad.

The grasshopperversion that ships with Rhino WIP is better at dealing with hi-res screens. Still some work to be done, but worth checking out. Rhino WIP is free for people with a rhino5 license.
