Need Help / Problems with creating volumes after offset complex surfaces

Hi guys,

I 'm kind a newbie here and certainly my request will seem silly. Anyway, i need your help.

I try to create volumes from two surface offsets. I did a merge list to create a pattern from an wavy surface. I obtained several surfaces made of two toggle boolean.

How can i simplify those surfaces (made of two surfaces)?

Also, how can i link the two offset surfaces in a closed volume?

Hi.

Here we have a workaround. Your initial surface has some self-intersecting parts, so I modified it a bit.

Check attached def. Best.

Thank you so much for the help! This is exactly what i wanted to do.

Your way is much better than the one that i started. I understood that you kept the curves to merge and cull. I did the inverse starting from the surfaces not the curves.

However, i still have some newbie questions (it's how we learn right?).

Why do we have to untrimed the surface once it's created? Can't we just offset the surfaces?

Also, why do we have to merge our three parts (the two offsets surfaces and the sides) before to join them?

Offset untrimed surface is much faster than trimed one. Of course you can do without merge before join, but with merge, you can confirm the order and data tree of input data stream and  modify it easily.
