Select Grid Cells within a Crv and Color Density

So I'm working on a paint by numbers mural.

Problem 1: Select the grid cells within and touching the curve. Then Cull them from the original grid list. How can I select the cells?

Problem 2: Randomly assign a number 1-4 to these cells. I need to change the density of the numbers from grouping to grouping. For instance, a darker portion is 60% 3's and 4's. A lighter portion is 60% 1's and 2's. This is where I'm totally lost.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Hi Adam,

OK here's something for starters, though it only maybe answers some of your first question as still not totally clear on what your trying to achieve. Am I write in understanding the layer will denote the colour. One thing that would be helpful is if you can make a portion of the design manually and upload a screen capture of it. This will help us gain a better understanding of what you want to do as grasshopper is great for working out a portion then editing the code to run the whole thing.

If you want to end up with the colour gradient being dependent on the surface below the sq then shout as that's a different workflow/code to what's posted below.

Hope its some help

Matt
