Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Need to standardized an irregular surface in order to BUILD IT!

Hi to everyone!

I have a major challenge: I´ve come up with this nice idea, of making a curved green roof for an institutional building. The client really liked it an now is time to figure out how to build it.

Need to standardized an irregular surface in order to BUILD IT!

For the preliminary design stage, we create this nice surface (through Rhino´s Cage Edit tool), but it is not possible to build it exactly as it is because it woul be too expensive. The concrete is ok, but the artesanal and unique formwork needed over almost 800 m2 of surface would be too much.

So, I need to standarized the shape. Make modules that would repeat, because that means less formwork. Does anybody has a clue about a tool that would help to achieve this through grasshopper?

Thank you,

Trinidad

What size modules do you envision and how many unique modules do you want to work with?

I imagine big modules of 10X10.2 meters
In total I would need 15 big pieces to cover the projects surface, and I think that having no more that 6 types of modules would work.

They can be, later, divided in smaller piezes (48 pieces of 1.25x1.70 m)

Thanks
