Thanks for Uto group. I am new in ecotect geco and try to use their script to analysis the building. i have load weather file and surface. According to their tutorial video and  talk to many, the 'link ecotect; and 'export mesh to ecotect' usually auto link, but my computer won't link. Please help out.

please post such request in our group so we get an request email, thx.

For your problem you have to use the newest geco v1.033 and grasshopper v09.0012 or higher.

This will solve your problem.

If you use grasshopper for rhino 5 we will release a updated version which also works for this.

currently you have to copy the files manually to the components folder

thx....

After installed the new version of grasshopper geco, here is error again

Error: solution exception: Could not load file or assembly 'Geolink, Version=2.1.563.0, Culture= neutral, Public KeyToken=bull' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Here is the error on ' Link Ecotect (EcoLink) ' in grasshopper geco.

Urgent!!! Please help!

PLEASE IDENTIFY which files copy manually from where to components folder?

thanks

as read the post before, there are some people having the same problem and the solutions that they provided are not working on mine.  i have also reintalled it several time, but it does not work at all

currently using window 7 64 b.it, rhino 4 S9 and grasshopper 9.0014, geco 9xxxx

Please advice what i can do>

Urgent!!!

Hi jc1988,

please use this one from this page ...http://www.food4rhino.com/project/geco

there should be no error.

also make sure you only have them once in  C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components or C:\Users\YOURPROFIL\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

Hi Uto,

It seems that somehow i'm not able to link ecotect and grasshopper.

Could you recomend a solution?

I'm using the right versions, at least, I downloaded them this week so that can't be it I think.

Do you know what wrong?

Thanks

Thijs

Hi Thijs,

please uninstall your version and check delete every version you may have there C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components or C:\Users\YOURPROFIL\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

than install again and make sure you have cersion 1.0034 becasue the license is obsolete

Installed latest Geco plug in and the only component that appears in my Extra tab is the Weather file link. All other components are gone. Ideas?

Dear Konrad,

as in the system requirements noted geco need at least gH09.0012 to work properly.

I have just updated to Rhino 5 / GH 9.0014 (for Rhino 5 only) / Geco 1.0.34.0 on Windows 7.

EcoLink does not work, I seem to be having the same problem as others have had and I have tried the suggested solutions. I have deleted every previous version of Geco from my C drive, and re-installed, but it still doesn't connect.

Does anyone have an idea about something else I could try???

Thanks...

Hi Doni,

it seems that you didn't uninstalled all, becasue you can not install Geco 1.0.34.0 with gh for rhino 5 only.. So you are still working with the old one...yould you check the plugin version ?

best

ok, after lots of uninstalling/deleting it works!

thanks

hi [uto]!
Is it possible to consider the shadows while performing the solar radiation analysis?
Probably there is an answer somewhere, but looking I found nothing.
Thanks a lot!

Dear J,

solar radiation is including overshading if you have the objects included in the calculation.

According your image i can not say anything because of the bad resolution. If you are using our template file it should be included.
