Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I'm a Grasshopper noob, and I was wondering if it is possible to rotate individual blocks (bricks) using an image sampler like with the Gantenbein Winery Facade.

I have attempted to divide a surface, then cull and dispatch the pattern to create the staggered brick effect, have tried to put a bounding box on the individual blocks but that too was unsuccessful as I imagine I was missing several components in each of the attempts I made, as well as a failed using the image sampler component.

Any help from anyone on how I would go about doing something like this would be greatly appreciated.

It's close, from the rotated rectangles would I be able to make them three dimensional (I'm guessing something like bounding box with box morph of a block), then apply a stretcher bond pattern to the squares (rectangles) using cull pattern and dispatch or move?

I would just like to know if it is possible before I tear my hair out trying something that can't be achieved.

Instead of rotating the rectangles, I'd imagine you'd rotate the bricks you already have. This file is just showing how to connect the greyscale values in an image to a rotational angle.
