Web Mercator Projection to WSG84 Longitude and Latitude

Hello,

I need some help remapping some points from a web mercator projection (eg google maps) to the wsg84 longitude and latitude projection

Long story:
I've tiled some screen grabs off google maps which had a overlay of a heat map that i wanted but couldn't get the raw data for (see image).... using the image sampler i've sampled the points and it all lines up at the equator. however its not the same projection as a wsg84 shape file that i need it to line up with.

From having a look and my basic understanding it appears the values are correct in the x axis. its just the y axis that needs to be 'remapped' but im unsure of the maths behind it...

If any one can help me it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

I have found this!

But have no idea how to put that into grasshopper.... or if its possible

It doesn't need to be perfect and i know it most likely wont line up 100% due to the fact im sampling an image. but a good fit would amazing

also see wsg84 map shapefile

Since you didn't post a GH file I could test it, but I copy-pasted the functions into some C# components.

im still a bit clueless.

Im not sure if its to do with my original image as it not 'a full sized' mercator map.... will make another version now

this kind of explains the problem with some functions at the bottom. https://alastaira.wordpress.com/2011/01/23/the-google-maps-bing-map...
