Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to model a geometry based on a seed I found in the woods which has several criss-crossing helixes around an oblate sphere. I've the main idea of it sorted but I haven't been able to get rid of an ugly column which is running through the centre of my model (and keep it parametric at the same time). I know it is there due to some sort of wrapping issue but after that I am stumped. Any Ideas?

I'm new to grasshopper so any tips on how I could clean up this file would also be welcomed especially with weaverbird.

Thanks folks

I've got very little time this morning to properly look into it. It seems the central line first appears in the Relative Item component. Something here is wrong. I changed the logic a bit so now it outputs individual lines. The lines are correct, but not connected, so your next step which involves scaling them no longer works as before.

Thanks David- certainly solved the column issue- I'll see what I can do with constructing a solid shape using your logic.
