Hi Michael,

up to now it's not faster than yours, I think, therefore I wanted to have a look on your definition. ;) Maybe you can send me an exported hi-res image to martin.dembski@uni-weimar.de?

With the metaballs in one direction it also works, but you always need to know which value you need to change , otherwise it fails.

But sometimes also the failed results are very interesting.

(have a look on the tasks of my students (you just need to click on the names) (the one with my name, which I also posted as link in the last post was just to show my students how it can look like))

Best,

Martin.

Martin,

your definition looks interesting, how does it handle speedwise, is it quickly responsive? I see your only doing metaballs in one direction, I can never get a nice mesh like you did that way, I always use x,y,and,z for the metaballs. I will try your way after work today.

Hi Michael,

thanks for the discription.

I'm also not a high professional in VB or C# scripting. I just know some things from Processing but mostly it's enough to understand some simple script.

I also did some similar stuff half a year ago in my class, but I always want to improve my definitions in performance/speed and of course in smart way's to do some things, so this is just my point of interest.

Best,

Martin.

I used a meshfrompoints scripted component I found(I don't know any scripting) but it uses meshfrompoints rhino plugin. I can upload it later when I am home. It is a bit of a Frankenstein definition, I used pieces of a meta-ball definition I found because it has a script in it that removes interior duplicate lines (I wish i knew how to do that part with just GH components, i don't like to rely on what I don't know, especially because scripts can become easily obsolete with new GH versions) but other than that its basic custom meta-ball stuff mixed with attraction logic.

Hi Michael,

it's me again.

Could you also post a image of your definition please where the components are visible?

Best,

Martin.

Hi Michael,

did you used the Rhino Mesh From Points command to create a solid metaball?

Best,

Martin.
