the question is interesting but too general to answer. I think the best way to understand what you want to do is to try and write a definition, start simple, then decide which parameter you want to try to add ... if you send me the definition we can see it together. I'm interested too in these things and I'm learning grasshopper. I read Grasshopper primer, which I recommend. Take a look at the chapter on attractors ( p. 56...). let me know how's going

I am trying to create this effect for my architecture class. I have a concept for my urban design portion and would like my building density to be parametric. Any guidence you could give would be great.

I made a similar exercise using rotate and attractors. You can add more dynamism to your piece if you add shear deformations or add a point of rotation on your scheme.

You should watch the Kinetic art movement. If you are interested I can send you my humble code showing how you can transform a bounding box for a twist.
