Finally got around to implementing the ball pivoting algorithm. 11000 points in just over half a second with the help of RhinoCommon's RTree class.

Hi,

I was wondering if you had any ideas regarding how to solve my problem at the post:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/geometric-shpere-blob-thr...

Someone referred me here, but I didn't really understand what the solution is and the link for the file you posted here is not functioning any more.

All help appreciated :)

Thanks

Hi Alex,

It sure can. I'll try to package it up as is and post it in the group later this week.

Hello David

I was wondering if this ball pivoting definition could be a part of this group.

I remember you saying that maybe this could be a component of a future plugin but until then it would be nice to be found in milkbox.

cheers

Oops sorry Wieland. looks like I got a bit wreckless in cleaning up my dropbox folder. Here's a slightly newer version. Most of the aforementioned kinks are gone but there's still some mysterious hanging on occasion.

Hi David, great work! I tried to download your Ball_Pivoting.gh but the Link is not working any more. Could you post it again? I would really like to see how it works.

Not a problem. Yeah there's still a few kinks that still need ironing out. Most notably, it seems to hang under certain conditions. Once that's dealt with, I'd be happy to package it up.

Thank you so much! Fantastic talent. You should think about polishing this up a bit more and releasing it as a plug-in; I can think of a few industrial designers I know who would love you for it.
