This Course will be explored in manner where Participants will understand inter-dependency of Rhinoceros3D & Grasshoper3D through a unique Hybrid Teaching Method While Exploring Rangoli Geometry .
The course will also take participants through Topics such as - Computational Thinking, - Computational / Parametric Design, - Computational Rangoli Exploration, - Digital Fabrication, - 3D Visualization ( Rhino3D 6), - Making Info-graphics & Design Diagrams ( Rhino3d 6 ).
Participants will also be doing a Project at the last Leg of Workshop in which they will implement the skill they gained in first Few Weeks.

Nitant Hirlekar A.k.a. Pixelkar, is a Computational Artist. He graduated from Rachana Sansad school of Interior Design 2011, Mumbai. In Academics He Bagged Two Gold and One Silver Medal on National Level.
In his post academic days, he came across the Emerging Computational Techniques in Design industry in which Algorithm serves as a main Functional part. He uses Algorithms to Deconstruct the Captured images in Pixelated form using the Grid of the Desired Indian Art Forms.
He Heads Collective Group Named "Mutation Lab” which is a multidisciplinary Design & Art Cell. Where they Explore Computational Approach while Designing Various Scales Spatial Installation, Digital Fabrication, Interactive Installations and Computational Consultancy for Various Architects.
He has exhibited his first artwork in Kalaghoda Arts Festival for in 2014 And further in 2016 and 2017.In 2015 he exhibited in Dharavi Biennale” organized by Wellcome Trust,London & Sneha Organisation, Mumbai Which was internationally acclaimed. In 2016 he got Featured on a TV show - The Creative Indian's as an Absolut Creative Indian of the Week.
Academically he is been involved in Many Computational Design Workshops / Elective Studios for School of Interior Design (Rachna Sansad), LS Raheja College of Architecture & Rat-Lab (Delhi).

2. There is a drop down menu at the top of Pure Data that reads "Media". Click on "Midi". If your device connection is working, you should see it show up as an option. Set the device to MIDI in. You don't really need to set a MIDI out unless you are planning to send messages back to the device (not sure why you would want to).
3. The boxes labeled "ctlin" with a number are the Control Change in's. In Pure Data go to the "Edit" menu and click on "Edit Mode". Click on one of the "ctlin #" boxes and change the number to match the Control Change number of your physical controller. Mine starts with 5 in the upper right and goes to 65. Each control change number shows up on the display window of my device when I use it which made it easy.
4. Continue this process for all your controls. Delete the unneccesary "ctlin #" boxes by selecting them with a fence and clicking "delete". When you hover over one of the wires you should see and "x". Press the "backspace" key to delete it.
5. Now go down to the "pack f f f ..." box. There should be as many "f" or "floats" in that box as there are you number of controllers. Delete the remaining "f".
6. Next look at the box below that reads "send /0...". Make sure to keep the "/0". If you delete the "/" it will crash Grasshopper. Change the number "5" to match your first control change number. Leave the $numbers alone. You'll want to keep them sequential. Continue change the control change numbers to match all of yours. The $numbers should match the order in which you wired each controller to the "pack f f f..." box.
7. For testing purposes hover over the input on the upper let of the "print" box and connect it to the out of the "send" box. If everything is mapped correctly, working properly, and you go back to the "main" PD window you should see a list of all controllers will a value (0 to 127) next to it. As you turn a knob, the value next to the control change number will increase from 0 to 127. This will give you a good indication of whether or not everything is working and if you mapped it correctly.
8. Click on the "connect OSC" box. You might need to exit out of "edit mode" and back to "performance" mode in the PD canvas.
9. Go To Grasshopper. If everything is working you should see the Panel read "new message" when you turn a knob. At this point it should be pretty obvious how to modify the Grasshopper components. I've tried to keep everything as consistent as possible. Since I filtered out the "/0", the "explode data treat" component starts at 0, the numbers are shifted down by 1.
I just left the IP address, etc. alone on the gHowl UDP component. Just make sure the "port number" matches the OSC port number on the send in Pure Data. If you crash, you may need to choose a new number.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions. If your computer is not recognizing your midi controller, you may need to install "Midiyoke". I did at first, but it turns out I didn't need it after all.

3) You supply the data. What you supply and how you supply it is for you to decide. There are umpteen different ways. Are you asking for a list of those ways for each input?

11) Toolbar management is probably the bane of David's life. Most things are logically placed. For example the Curve Tab, Primitives are any simple curve types that you are creating from scratch. Similarly Splines is for more complex curve types created from scratch. Analysis is where you find components that are finding answers supplied by curves, control points, curvature, parameters, end points etc. Division is a subset of this category but has a group of its own. And Utilities is where you find curve related actions that you want to perform, offsetting, rebuilding projecting, exploding etc.
12) I would image it would have been the Point On Curve component in Curve>Analysis. Why that group? You are not putting a point on a curve you are analysing a curve for the location of a point based on some parameters that you are supplying. For example "what is the mid point?"
I hope this goes some way towards answering you questions. No doubt this will have generated more so don't be afraid to ask, it took me several releases of Explicit History (aka Grasshopper) before I realised what the egg did, it never occurred to me that I could put my objects into Rhino when I was finished. Or the fact that I could use panels to 'see' data outputs.

ou will see all of the available components on a ribbon at once so there is no need to keep clicking drop down menus.
It's all about discoverability with GH. What if you're a beginner and don't know about the Create Facility (dbl click canvas) how can you find Extr?
Even if you hover over every component or use the drop down lists you will not see the name Extr appear anywhere.
Sure it makes sense that Extr is short for Extrude but it's also the Nick Name of Extrude to Point component
So you can easily miss the fact that one has a Distance Input verses a Point Input.
I think I made the move to Icons around about the move from version 0.5 to 0.6, possibly before. I initially thought that I would go back to text because I loved the mono chromatic look of the text but I soon realised that Icons were the way forward. The greatest benefit is speed. You don't need to digest and decipher every component (which is written 90 degrees to the norm).
I'm not saying you should move to Icons forthwith but at least consider that once you have a better knowledge and understanding of GH, Icons will set you free.
My top ten tips that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to better themselves with GH.
1) Turn on Draw Icons
2) Turn on Draw Fancy Wires
3) Turn on Obscure Components
4) Use the Create Facility like a Command Line eg "Slider=-1<0.75<2" or "Shiftlist=-1"
5) Use Component Aliases to customise your use of the Create Facility eg giving the Point XYZ component an alias of XYZ will bring it up as the first option on the Create Facility as opposed to the other possibilities.
6) Try to answer other people's questions even if it's not relevant to your own area. By looking into solving a problem outside of your comfort zone and then posting your results it is very rewarding but it also lets you see the other approaches that get posted in a new light.
7) Take the time to understand Data/Path structures.
8) Buy a second monitor - There is nothing that can compare to real estate when working in Grasshopper.
9) Read Rajaa Issa's Essential Mathematics
10) Pick a panel in a tab on the ribbon and get to know every component inside and out and then move on. Start with the Sets Tab > List Panel…
