o scale by an unknown value, for example a 10m slab might come into Grasshopper as a 10.7m slab. Very strange and it makes it unusable, which is a shame because as Paul mentioned on the main Chameleon page, Chameleon is the only way to directly reference Revit content into Grasshopper, and has generally been an awesome app for some time now.
The closest alternative is using Mantis Shrimp, a plugin that operates between Dynamo and Grasshopper, but the workflow there is to reference Revit geometry into Dynamo, convert it to DesignScript, write it as a generic data exchange file, and then reference that file location in Grasshopper. A great workflow when you're already in Dynamo but obviously not as fast as what Chameleon is doing.
Paul is right - Dynamo has the most assured longevity of the interop tools and that's where we'll be shifting focus. Lyrebird was developed in partnership with McNeel and works through 2016 so there's some assurance there as well.…

ation production and consumption that represent our physical world in numbers and complex networks. The advent of computational systems has not only helped in developing data production but also in transmitting data between different disciplines including architecture through fields of numbers/codes. Historically, numbers and proportions played a vital role in architectural production, now; the complex flow of data is opening unexpected territories for architects. Data Flow is an advanced computational design workshop that focuses on capturing, processing and utilizing real time data from the surrounding environment by means of physical computing and parametric design tools, enabling the participants to develop informed design solutions that adapt to the environment. The workshop knowledge objective is to reconsider abstract data as a design opportunity by developing the quantitative flow of data as a qualitative design approach. /// Application To apply, please follow this link to fill the application form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1xzKn-cZzfvu24ktTNP1ElGBAufdryfLNCXvpheucrS8/viewform /// Fees* 1700 EGP for students / 2000 EGP for graduates and young professionals * 20 % discount for early registration and payment before 22 nd of August 2014 more info on the workshop webpage: http://www.encodestudio.net/#!dataflow/cslb…

cy of design communication and the control of information-flow are as important as the creativity of ideas. In response to the concurrent digital evolution emerging in the architectural industry world-wide, the Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong will host a two week intensive summer program named Digital Practice.Led by professors from The University of Hong Kong, as well as invited practitioners with expertise in practice of cutting edge digital techniques, the program offers participants opportunities to experience applications of computational tools during different stages of an architectural project, i.e. concept design, form finding and optimization, delivery, management and communication of design information under the team-based working environment. By learning advanced computational techniques through case studies in the context of Hong Kong, participants are expected to go beyond the conventional perception of technology, considering users and tools as a feedback-based entity instead of a dichotomy. The program, which is taught in English, includes a series of evening lectures related delivered by teaching staff and invited local architects. …
he path curve into a polycurve (arc and line segments). In this member it seems the orientation vector is near parallel to the end segment, so a default orientation is assumed.
Your gh definition was saved in a state to generate IFC4 (right click on bake component). But your path curves aren't "planar". I've attached a definition that projects interpolated points onto a planed fit to 3 points. Then I get a lot more members created in Revit (I've not seen you can create a non-planar path curve in Revit). Revit does have nurbs capability, but not as functional as Rhino and you'll see few members out of position. You could try building the curves with fewer points, but if you accept a generic model beam (difficult to edit but should represent ok in revit) then I've been working on a new workflow to generate non-planar or arbitrary elements in Revit by exporting the geometry to a .dwg or .sat (2014) file and then importing into a generic model family. It's much slower but can achieve nurbs geometry transfer. I'll demonstrate this soon (I need to check on the sweep I'm getting).
Note Revit 2014 seems to have gone backwards from Revit 2013 in depicting beams with nurbs profiles, so anyone creating similar should stick to 2013 until a patch (or 2015) comes out. I'll monitor this.
Hope it helps, will post the alternate method ASAP.

r piece out of the mold if you reverse it, befor the porcelain shrink. The porcelain shrink approx 14% between the mold and the final piece after it have been baked.
You have your piece with only a 2 to 4 mm wall thickness It'sdepend of the time you let the "barbotine" dry in the mold before you empty it. Here the thickness is about 2 mm.
Yes the piece is bake in a kiln to approx 1000 °C .
With a thickness from 2 to 4 mm, you can play with the translucidity of the porcelaine to let the light come through like in my voronoî project in 2014 : http://www.grasshopper3d.com/video/vorono…
eep insight into a new way of designing: the parametric thinking.
In the workshop, we will go over the conceptualization of a parametric process, the use of algorithms as creative tools, techniques for advanced formal generation, and methods for the optimization and improvement of our designs.
We will emphasize these concepts, as well as make thorough use of specific tools for generative modeling in order to materialize these ideas, in this case, Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
In ParametricCamp we like being hands-on. We will go through theory, debate, case studies and reviews, but we will mainly work, code and produce on top of practical cases and real-case scenarios, structured in increasing complexity and developed with learning purposes. Also, the event will close with a personal project, a flexible proposal adapted to your personal interests and developed through the workshop.
ParametricCamp is open and multidisciplinary, and is best suited for students and professionals in the field of design, architecture and product development in particular.
