a given with the third set of information (at the 6th minute). From that, it will then match - for the same exact boats - the speed data given at the 4th minute. Finally it will do a matched subtraction of V(4th) from V(6th) for each boat. Those numbers - whether then scaled up / down or somehow manipulated - will act as the Z dimension which will create the topology. Since V2 - V1 can have a minus value, the overall topology will be a mix of mountains and icebergs this time.
Perhaps to be more accurate, we could divide V2-V1 by 120 and let the topology show the change in speed in a second within that two minutes; the XY coordinates belonging to the latter position of the ships, not the first.
Your definition as you say helps for the linear drawing as it continues from it's stopped. I used that in the current sketch as well for again doing the same thing.However when, I tried to use it for what I am trying to do with the acceleration thing, the result was different. I will try to explain this again;
Let's say that until this point 6 sets of data has arrived - so 12 minutes has passed -. Within that 6 sets, the number of of boats for each one differ as not all of them are able to send data every time. Let's assume in total there are 25 boats and 18 of them have always managed to send data in those 12 minutes. So 18 from the beginning until the end, and finally let's say the remaining 7 of them only could manage to come into the picture at the 4th set of data (so 4,5 and 6).
Now, if I were to build a topology of acceleration for the 6th minute which would mean that I would have to subtract V(4th minute) from V(6th minute) of all 18 vessels, I would need index 2 and 1 from all the branches. If I do this only after 6 minutes has passed from the beginning it would probably work, however if I do it later like at the 12th minute, it does not.
And the very reason for that is when the remaining 7 join the crowd at the 8th minute they obtain an index number of 0, and then 1, and then 2 - at the 12th minute. Because of that when I try to match the V2-V1s with Coordinates on the Unary Force component, while there are 18 sets of coordinates, there are 25 different speed values.
Of course this is quite a simplified scenario and perhaps your vessel matching could solve this specific one but there are cases where its more complicated and random.
I do still want to show vessels' position in a specific time with such pipes you have suggested, but I am trying to construct a collective model, in its simplest form being equal to pipes + topology
For the time thing, what I meant was in this version when you click play the mountains just keep on rising and the topology is constantly deformed. I was wondering if we can set up a timer so that it runs the physics engine for couple of seconds and then freezes the topology as it is. Otherwise I would have to press pause manually everytime, which is not that big of a deal tbh, just for the accuracy sake it would be good to run the engine for the same interval for each model.

and fabrication procedures, is being conducted in June-July 2014 in association with Shih Chien University and Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan. The interdisciplinary workshop provides an opportunity to architects and designers to be a part of the 12 day studio and investigate interactive design and fabrication solutions for dynamic socio-cultural fabrics.
ExtraFabrica is a part of Dezact’s exploration aiming to develop and test interactive design and fabrication scenarios in neglected or problematic urban interstices and ecologies, to adapt to existing constructs for new use and identity, to catalyse socio-cultural activities and to engage behaviour parallax between physical and virtual environments. Conditions of 'live' factors with extended duration and occupation, i.e. street life, derelict buildings, traffic, rain, dance, demonstration, and so on, are invited to interfere with quantifiable or codify-able parameters set out by design algorithm, feedback mechanism and fabrication dynamics. The idea envisages architectural outcome which enables fabrication of action, of participation, of change of values, of identity, of confluence of voices and dreams.

onstrates the following:
1. The definition's functionality employing HumanUI for the custom user interface.
2. Color based segmentation in manual and auto modes.
3. The evaluation of the definition's ability to handle different point cloud data sets.
This definition performs color based segmentation in two modes.
A manual mode, that implements the Delta-E CIE 2000 color difference formula, for targeted feature detection. An auto mode, that employs a simple RGB Color Range algorithm for quicker preliminary results.
RGB to XYZ to CIELab conversion and Delta-E scripts were based on Colormine's project code from github. Results have been compared and verified with the results of http://colormine.org/color-converter and http://colormine.org/delta-e-calculator/Cie2000.
Each stored class is charted and can be accessed through the UI, as shown at 2:30, where Delta-E CIE 2000, in CieLab color space, output results were found to be in perceptive conformity with human eyes, far superior to the preliminary RGB implementation.
Initial definition versions could process highly subsampled clouds in acceptable timings. Further research showed that employing the multithread processing of Volvox components, bundling the Delta E formula with the RGB to CIE lab color conversion script, per color segmentation calculations for a one million points point cloud would go down from 23 (c# script component) and 8 (vb script component) seconds to approx. 1 second (volvox script cloud component), thus allowing the segmentation of less subsampled point clouds.
I would like to thank Heumann A. and Zwierzycki M. who provided direct support with HumanUI and Volvox. Also Grasshopper3d forum users Maher S. and Segeren P., who contributed with Rhino viewport manipulation scripts.

will work slightly different from before. Sorry about breaking this, but it proved impossible to improve the selection logic with the fairly ambiguous notation that was implemented already.
Not every change is breaking though and I hope that most simple matching rules will work as before. There will be a McNeel webinar on Wednesday the 6th of November where I discuss the new selection rules (as well as path mapping syntax and relative offsets within one or more data trees). This will be a pretty hard-core webinar aimed at expert users. The event will be recorded so you can always go and watch it later. I figured I'd briefly explain the new selection rules on Ning before I release the update though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine we have the following data tree, containing a bunch of textual characters:
{0;0} = [a,e,i,o,u,y] {0;1} = [ä,ë,ê,ï,î,ö,ô,õ,ü,û,ÿ,ý] {1;0} = [b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,s,t,v,w,x,z] {1;1} = [ç,ĉ,č,ĝ,ř,š,ş,ž]
There are a total of four branches {0;0}, {0;1}, {1;0} and {1;1}. The first branch contains all the vowels that are part of the standard English alphabet. The second branch contains all non-standard vowels and branches three and four contain the standard and non-standard consonants respectively.
So what if we want to select from this tree only the standard vowels? Basically include everything in the first branch and disregard everything else. We can use the [Tree Split] component with a selection rule to achieve this:
{0;0}
This selection rule hard-codes the number zero in both tree path locations. It doesn't define an item index rule, so all items in {0;0} will be selected.
If we want all the vowels (both standard and non-standard), then we have several options:
{0;?} = select all branches that start with 0
{0;(0,1)} = select all branches that start with 0 and end in either 0 or 1
{0;(0 to 1)} = ......................................... and end in the range 0 to 1.
Conversely, selecting all standard vowels and consonants while disregarding all non-standard character can be achieved with rules as follows:
{?;0}
{(0,1);0}
{(0 to 1);0}
It is also possible to select items from each branch in addition to limiting the selection to specific branches. In this case another rule stated in square brackets needs to be appended:
{0;?}[0 to 2]
The above rule will select the first three vowels from the standard and the non-standard lists.
Basically, rules work in a very consistent way, but there are some syntax conventions you need to know. The first thing to realize is that every individual piece of data in a data-tree can be uniquely and unambiguously identified by a collection of integers. One integer describes its index within the branch and the others are used to identify the branch within the tree. As a result a rule for selection items always looks the same:
{A;B;C;...;Z}[i] where A, B, C, Z and i represent rules.
It's very similar to the Path Mapper syntax except it uses square brackets instead of parenthesis for the index (the Path Mapper will follow suit soon, but that won't be a breaking change). You always have to define the path selector rule in between curly brackets. You can supply any number of rules as long as you separate them with semi-colons.
The index rule is optional, but -when provided- it has to be encased in square brackets after the path selection rule(s).
The following rule notations are allowed:
* Any number of integers in a path
? Any single integer
6 Any specific integer
!6 Anything except a specific integer
(2,6,7) Any one of the specific integers in this group.
!(2,6,7) Anything except one of the integers in this group.
(2 to 20) Any integer in this range (including both 2 and 20).
!(2 to 20) Any integer outside this range.
(0,2,...) Any integer part of this infinite sequence. Sequences have to be at least two integers long, and every subsequent integer has to be bigger than the previous one (sorry, that may be a temporary limitation, don't know yet).
(0,2,...,48) Any integer part of this finite sequence. You can optionally provide a single sequence limit after the three dots.
!(3,5,...) Any integer not part of this infinite sequence. The sequence doesn't extend to the left, only towards the right. So this rule would select the numbers 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and all remaining even numbers.
!(7,10,21,...,425) Any integer not part of this finite sequence.
Furthermore, it is possible to combine two or more rules using the boolean and/or operators. If you want to select the first five items in every list of a datatree and also the items 7, 12 and 42, then the selection rule would look as follows:
{*}[(0 to 4) or (6,11,41)]
The asterisk allows you to include all branches, no matter what their paths looks like.
It is at present not possible to use the parenthesis to define rule precedence, rules are always evaluated from left to right. It is at present also not possible to use negative integers to identify items from the end of a list.
If you want to know more, join the Webinar on Wednesday!

“Probably it is necessary that you consider how most type of objects are not categorized by the IFC, considering a contemporary subject. Beyond your appreciation, that we consider as really important, we relativize the significant feedback appreciations communicated by those subjects to whom the IFC was referred: the construction companies. Taking distance from your comments, a little bit superficial and youthful, we can affirm that: the quantities, data on products, contextualization of drawings, calculations, etc. distinguish the work that we did from the partial and poor scenario that you describe.
This result has been particularly appreciated by the companies who had to estimate a complex project in 3 months. Whatever you may say, this is a fact recognized into our field already: this first public procurement (Loi n° 85-704 du 12 juillet 1985 “MOP - Maîtrise d'Ouvrage Publique”) offered estimation procedures never reached for such complex project. This also means that, finally, the estimation and the offer negotiated by the companies respected the client’s goal. This is for your information.
I wish to ask a question to you, Rhino trainer at RhinoForYou: how and in which conditions you accessed to constriction companies’ tipoffs?”

ears many bridges had been constructed and even more has collapsed or has been destroyed. Today Warsaw is connected by eight road bridges and two rail bridges, only few of them have a bike lanes. Modern cities are going through rapid changes. Hamburg has announced that in less than 20 years they are closing the center for cars, Copenhagen notes major incrementation in bike use, city bike system has been successfully introduced to many Polish cities. Warsaw bicycle net path is still very weak and probably the most urgent issue is to build a new bridge overpassing the Vistula River. This year Warsaw City Council decided to run an architectural competition for a new bridge. Architecture for Society of Knowledge and Architektura Informacyjna, Master's Programs of Architecture Faculty of Warsaw University of Technology, and Architektura Parametryczna, a digital design educational platform, invite for workshop: Outcome: The primary goal of workshops is to find the most optimal position for new bicycle bridge (or bridges) in Warsaw to enhance the global accessibility and Walkscore. During the workshop the participants will develop an interactive tool that will help to understand the accessibility changes by connecting Vistula shores with bicycle bridges. Program: Four days event will include coding part and learning how to apply digital tools into urban scale problems along with lectures of invited guests. This workshop is planned for intermediate user that understand and use Grasshopper. The workshop will be conducted in English. ich is the following :
"in a box", i would like to create structure made by wooden blades that follow floor, wall and ceiling, but moving from this support due to "curves" which are the most important variables.
Here is my "logic". You will find enclosed to this post my files as well.
In bold what i'm unable to do by myself (i guess) :
Take the square of 25 m x 12 m ; make it a surface
I divide it in "blades" of 20 cm
I take the edges of the "blades"
I divide this edges in 40 points (or equivalent) (A)
I identify my curves (curves) which are on the floors
I identify the crosspoint between my edge-blade and the curves (B)
I have to test the difference between X Y Z of each A and B.
I have to test which B point is the closest of each A
Each A points which is close to B (Distance < 40 cm) must be on the floor
I have to input a math formula in order to représent the movement of A points regarding their distance to B (example : A1 Z = Distance between A1 and B / 2)
If there are 2+ B, that mean that i have "to do something" to get a correct movement. I mean
2 consecutives points must be on the same "plan"
2 height difference between each point must be 0 or a dedicated value
Regarding Ceiling, it is a duplication of the floor but there is coef to apply with Z distance.
2 parallele points on a define axis, example : X, and consecutive can't have more than 20cm of difference
When all points have moves regarding "parameters" and "curves"; i have to do curve linking all the point of a same "line".
After that i duplicate this curve to a upper curve.
Loft
Extrude surface and then, it's done ?
To be clear, i miss the part where i need to make my points move regarding variables...
I'm sorry, RHI Grasshopper projet.3dm does not represent the "need" to have to consecutive point on the same plan
