s the "Surface Populating" definition: I manage to populate my geometry over the surface, but after I bake it, I have to delete the boxes that define my components limits as well! Is there any way of populating and baking only the chosen component, without having to delete the boxes afterwards?
Secondly:
Basically: I am trying to cover a surface with two types of components [ an open one and a closed one] , which will be proliferated over my tubular surface according to the main sunlight direction.
1. I introduce the surface component.
2. I use "Divide Interval2" in order to have division into U and V.
3. i generate the target boxes [ "surfaceBox"] .
4. I use "Isotrim" ( same intervals) and "BRepArea" to find centroid of each area.
5. My "Curve" component introduces sun angle, with its "End Points".
6. I use "Vector 2Pt" to specify sun-light direction.
7. I want to measure the angle between sun-light and the surface normals, at the position of each component; after generating the centre points, I need the normals of each centre point to get the surface's points' UV, and "Evaluate" the srf at points.
8."Angle" and "Vector" components: I use them in order to evaluate the angle between the sun direction and the srf.
9. I convert this angle to degree by using a "Function" [ to see if the angle is bigger from the max.angle or not...]
10. Function "x,y" gives me boolean data.
11. Data become "Dispatch"ed...
12. Two "Morph" components , each one linked to one part of the "Dispatch" data, generate "closed" and "open" components over the srf.
The result should have been different types of components, based on the surface's curvature, diraction and sun-light direction...
I do not understand where the mistake is in this definition...
Thx in advance1

The PC actually stops working because after a few seconds the simulation starts the fan inside the PC all of a sudden stops and for the next 5-10 mins I cannot do anything, even alt+ctrl+canc. After I wait for that time i get the followig error:

The thing is that if I raise the -aa parameter from 0.05 to 0.1 all works fine..
Is this only related to my PC then?? What should I do to solve this issue?
Thanks again for your help
Luigi…
I tell you what I had to do and how I did it.
I have the following situation. A urban context with a square plot 40m x 40m surrounded by buildings.
If I extrude the plot I get 4 surfaces and I need to calculate the minimum daily quantity of direct sunlight hours each test point receives in the period from 22nd of April to 22nd of August. For example for the test point at index 21 of surface with index 1 (I am just creating these numbers in my mind) the minimum is on 27th of April and the test point receive 8 hours (this is also invented for the sake of the example) of direct sunlight. All the other days it receives more. So the values I have to found are these minimums for all the test points. Now how to calculate these minimum quantities is a different issue of the topic of this post and actually I manage it.
Continuing with the explanation of what I had to... so I have only the initial plot that generate 4 surfaces, then I want to test smaller plots generated by an offset of 4 m of the original one, and the relative 4 surfaces for each smaller plot.
So in this case I think I cannot use your suggestion because the object don't exist yet.
I managed creating a loop with Anemone, the loop generate an offset starting from the original at 0 until 4 (then I multiply it by 4 to obtain the offset at 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16. Then I did like you also suggest I record every time the result with the DataRecorder and I create for each result a different branch with the index coming from the loop (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4) with the Flatten component.
In this image you can see all the surfaces saved in the same way as described above and in white the test points that receive minmum or equal than 2.5 hours per day of direct sunlight in the period from from 22nd of April to 22nd of August and in dark gray the test points that receive less.
The main point of this discussion is just the fact that instead use this tricky way I used, or the one you suggest, to analyze separately (because they shade each other) 20 geometries (in this case 20 they could be many more) it would be good if it would be possible just to input all the geometries at the same time and they would not shade each other so to get directly all the results with one run and in a more simple way.

ectural project, the efficiency of design communication and the control of information-flow are as important as the creativity of ideas. In response to the concurrent digital evolution emerging in the architectural industry world-wide, the Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong will host a two week intensive summer program named Digital Practice.Led by professors from The University of Hong Kong, as well as invited practitioners with expertise in practice of cutting edge digital techniques, the program offers participants opportunities to experience applications of computational tools during different stages of an architectural project, i.e. concept design, form finding and optimization, delivery, management and communication of design information under the team-based working environment. By learning advanced computational techniques through case studies in the context of Hong Kong, participants are expected to go beyond the conventional perception of technology, considering users and tools as a feedback-based entity instead of a dichotomy. The program, which is taught in English, includes a series of evening lectures related delivered by teaching staff and invited local architects. …
rights to register the "mapwingis.ocx" file.Francesco, would you be patient just a tiny little bit, so that we could try something else? I would be grateful if you could.
1) Close Grasshopper and Rhino2) Run the Revo Uninstaller Pro and uninstall your MapWinGIS application along with removing all the leftovers from the registry.3) Restart your PC, and once it boots again, make sure that you are logged in as an Adminstrator.4) In your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".5) Turn off your Antivirus, which ever it is.6) Download the 64 bit version of v4.9.4.2 MapWinGIS.7) Right click on downloaded MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file, and choose "Properties". If there is "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".8) Left double click on MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file and install it to "C:\dev\MapWinGIS" folder. Choose "Full installation" during installation process!9) In your Start menu's search box type: "CMD". Once the "Command prompt" appears do not left click on it! Instead right click on it, and choose "Run as Administrator".10) A command prompt window will open. Type the following command:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /u /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
If command does not result in an error message, then type this one afterwards:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
11) If no error appeared again, then open your Rhino and Grasshopper and check what Gismo_Gismo component prints from its "readMe!" output. If errors appeared, it would be nice if you could post their screenshots.…
