Does anyone have experience with scripting interfaces for this software? I'm stuck already. I know nothing of java script to begin with. As you can see I managed to format the labels but the osc message I could not find a way, it stays untouched.
Just in case someone knows better, here are my "objects" (I said that right?). The userXXX are replaced in GH.

n due at the end of march. i am hoping to see if i can do this as a sort of "HIVE MIND" experiment with one or two or more posters to the forum. i have uploaded two files to http://www.formpig.com/nine_bar-FAR and I have the following goals:
1. To "kinematically iterate" various formal building envelopes based upon a 50' x 100' lot that "conform" to the nine bar linkage geometry.
2. This lot would have "setbacks" consisting of two 5' side setbacks, a 10' rear yard setback and a 25' front yard setback. max height on the structure is 32' and the allowable overhangs into the setbacks are 2'. I would like to find a way to use the "nine bar geometry" to construct a series of iterations for "floors", "walls" and "ceilings", which would then be tied to a volumetric (cubic volume), or a total square footage (perhaps based upon two horizontal section cuts) which was based upon a given number that I will provide per local building code.
3. Laid on top of this we would also have "mcmansion ordinance" requirements based upon the pdf enclosed. i expect to have this "tent restriction" data in digital form to upload to ftp shortly.
It would be up to you individually or collectively to determine how best to position this "in the real world" based upon the lot, setbacks, zoning requirements etc. For instance, perhaps the nine bar configuration has its vertices coplanar with the 50' x 100' x 32' envelope restrictions and then the chosen volume is "trimmed' by the setback requirements. Or perhaps the nine-bar configuration is generated completely within the setbacks, or perhaps it is generated 2' outside of the setbacks so as to take advantage of the 2' overhang allowance on the setbacks, etc.

Given an opportunity to develop the work in a second phase we would have an opportunity to tie this into various efficiencies such as Bill of Materials (wall floor and ceiling square foot calculations), envelope to volume calculations, solar panel efficiencies (solar orientation and envelope geometry) etc, etc (love to get suggestions for this).

I've become /really/ convinced that this would be a /really/ interesting entry based upon my just finishing up Kas Oosterhuis' Towards a New Kind of Building: A Designer's Guide for Non-Standard Architecture". In an ideal world I was hoping that it would be possible to hash this out discussion-wise and then literally passing it around on the list after someone eventually made the first move by tossing out a rough ghx script. My expectation would be to finalize it rapidly in the next two weeks. Something of a contemporary version of a design charette.
However, I realize this may not be workable so if you have experience in this arena and particularly if you think this is a brief that is straighforward enough to be almost literally implemented in Grasshopper, please contact me for any wage and/or contract fee requirements.
I'm getting a bit of a late jump on this but my hope is that with the right participant(s) that I can thrash it together quick enough for the first round.

case for sure (started by Giorgio a couple of days before). Ive got involved because I exploit ways to "relax" shapes on nurbs (say patterns created by Lunchbox or "manually) without using any kind of mesh (more explanations soon).
Here's 5 test cases (SDK appears that doesn't have some "thicken surface" thing ... thus the algo that finds the "whole" shapes is rather naive) VS 2 Kangaroo "methods" and the why bother (he he) option as well.
If the goal is to "fit" these shapes within the nurbs ... does it work so far? No I'm afraid (appears that "springs" used are not the proper ones - or [Kangaroo1 option] the lines that pull should been originated from valance 2 points only)
Tricky points:
1. Internalize appears having a variety of serious issues (see Input inside definition) - Load Rhino file first (but even so ...).
2. Pull to surface is deactivated - this is not the issue here (and it's very slow).
3. Since Starling/WB alter the "curves - points" related order
the issue here (Pull points to curves) is to correspond apples to apples:

As you can guess from the tone of my previous response, I finished with school and had a hard time finding a job that focused on the technologies I delt with all through undergrad and grad. During grad school I was working with ASGvis (the makers of V-Ray) so I got exposed to the software side of things both on the support/management side and the development side. Now I'm off on my own doing development projects like RhinoHair, a few others, and some custom plugins for clients. Not necessarily what I thought I'd be doing after grad school, but I'm certainly enjoying it more than the "standard" practice of architecture.
I definitely understand "creating" a program. I did both my undergrad and grad at Catholic U here in DC, and although there was some ground work laid in regards to fabrication, I was one of only two or three students spearheading a lot of the scripting/GH/parametric stuff and some of the topics that go along with them (algorithmic design, adaptive systems, advanced geometry). One thing that was incredibly helpful for me was to pair up with the most advanced and forward thinking professor(s) that you can and take their studios, electives, and/or help out with their research. I was lucky enough to pair with a professor who had been at MIT and really encouraged me to explore my interests and sharpen my technicial skills.
It might also be a good idea to stick your head in some other departments, probably the math and engineering ones, or even biology and economics if there are some forward thinking professors. Talk to some people and get a different perspective on things. When I went to the ACADIA conference in 2008 it really opened my eyes to some of the potential influence from those different arenas.
Fabrication wise, I'd really try to focus more on milling (3 axis is fairly standard, 5 axis if you can get access) than 3d printing. Printing is a lot of fun, but ultimately we're not printing buildings (yet), so some of the milling processes will be much more valuble. If your school doesn't have those kind of facilities on campus (either in the Arch dept or engineering or something), then contact a local fabricator and see if you can work together somehow or someway. You'd be surprised and how many fabricators are interested in talking to architects.…

and since this release are UserObject componentes, you can remplace if you want the Size component with one new. For example, right clicking size_param, going to Expresion and setting x*pi-40, the size input will be the diameter of the resulting circle, if you give it a value of 14, the circle will have a radius of 7. Then save the userobject (File>Create User Object) and remove the other.
Or create a new one, since this component is just a rotated circle and a cylinder.

background: I'm recreating elbows, Tees, and other fittings using
paramatric scripts, then baking and exporting them. Here's one source

Current Setup: the attached ghx file. Create a point at 0,5,0 in a blank
document with units set to inches, then assign that point to the top
left 'Center Pnt' in the ghx file.
Current workflow:
a) Modify variables A, B, H, and Nominal Dia to match one line from the
table in the linked PDF file, page 5, table of regular elbows.
b) Select the 'Nodes' and 'Surfaces' with a drag box
c) Click 'Bake'
d) Switch to Rhino window, do the 'sellast' command.
e) Drag baked objects along Y axis so the center point is at 0,0,0
f) Run 'Join'
g) Run 'Cap'
h) set the 'node' points to a layer called 'nodes'
i) set the surface to a layer called 'fit-3d'.
j) select the surfaces and nodes
k) export selected
This elbow that I'm doing only has 12 rows, so doing it the above method
doesn't take THAT long. I'm also going to be doing a couple with larger
tables like the Tee on page 8, and in other spec files. As you can
imagine, entering in EACH value into a slider is a bit tedious.
I'd love to take the pdf table, run it through an OCR program to convert
to excel, modify the headers so the ghx script knows what they are, then
paste it into grasshopper, or save it and have grasshopper read it, and
I be able to move a slider or something to to select one line at a time.
Has anyone done something similar? ie: assigned one row in a table to a
predefined set of variables, each variable coming from one field in the row?

I would infinitely appreciate the resolution to this problem, for the moment I can not think of anything other than to uninstall everything and leave only installed the program Rhinoceros 5SR13 with Grasshopper 0.9.76.0 and nothing more.
I already tried to download another new file from Grasshopper 0.9.76.0, which ruled out that this installer is wrong, what I could do is look for another version of Rhinoceros but I have the newest one or one of the newest versions: Rhino_5.13.60913.21340_x86_x64_Multi. Exe
I understand that the Grasshoper installer is showing me a message where it says there is a Win32 exception where the system can not find the source file, what I do not know is if this exception has to do with the Windows C /: Folder: Windows, subfolder: System32 or I do not know if it refers to that as I do not have the 32 bit version of Rhinoceros maybe the installer gets confused and generates the installation error exception.
Another thing to which the exception is associated is the start process file: Start.nfo or start information.
There is also a programming argument for file upload errors of boolean operations (geometry operators) associated with the platform operating system, a process called child process.
Also appears another note that says the installed package of a plugin called inspector and I do not know what else I can not explain.
I do not know what to do, I just happen to uninstall and install everything and I do not think the Rhinoceros installer has any errors, I have Windows 10 edition of Red Stone 1 of 64 Bit.
