jogs between the curves. My Grasshopper program uses the curves to add orientation curves. These curves are then broken down into 150 segments with a "Divide Equal" command", then merged and fed to my Kuka|prc core. 24 commands in total.
The program works well on the Kuka in T1 setting so I can adjust the speed. Albeit my hand is exhausted holding the buttons... and this will not work when I am not in T1 mode.
When trying to program I found that if I did not have each curve broken into an equal number of segments (i.e. 150) the commands would not merge. I found that each LIN command on the kuka is completed in the same time interval. Unfortunately this means that some of my shorter jog curves can take longer to run than my cutting curves. And my velocities are not constant throughout the program because the curves are different lengths. I need the cutter when in the material to have a consistent cutter speed to optimize my machine time (as well to speed up the jogs).
Is there a better way to program this (or component to use) so I can manipulate the velocity with Kuka|prc? i.e. should I be using Divide Equal and Merge?
Thanks

Visiting School Rio de Janeiro will collaborate with the Centro Carioca de Design with the support of Columbia University Studio X to investigate new possibilities for the urban infrastructure surrounding World Cup Stadiums. Nation-wide, there has been significant investment to build and renovate stadiums for the 2014 World Cup in order to meet the required standard FIFA regulations (‘Padrão FIFA’). At the same time, there has been a large public demand for equal investment into transport systems, public space, and public programs such as hospitals and schools. The Visiting School will tap into the momentum of this movement, and promote a series of interventions within and around the World Cup structures, proposing new public programs and standards for their legacy. Students can choose to focus directly on the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the venue for the Final match of the World Cup. The intense ten-day workshop will employ computational design and digital fabrication to introduce a design methodology that creatively automates and promotes transformation, mutation and complexity for these infrastructure interventions.
Prominent Features of the workshop
Teaching teamThe teaching team will include a mix of tutors from the Architectural Association, including Theodore Sarantoglou Lalis e Dora Sweijd (lassa-architects.com) of Diploma 17, and locally-based architects, urban-designers and experts, mediated by locally-based Visiting School directors, to promote cutting-edge innovative strategies informed by local political, economic and construction issues.
Computational skillsThe workshop will teach advanced digital modeling and parametric design skills, no previous experience is needed. A group of specialist computation tutors will conduct an initial skills workshop and continue to assist throughout the workshop to develop the individual projects of the participants.
Digital FabricationA series of physical models will be built using digital fabrication techniques that will be taught during the workshop, no previous experience is needed.

ay be other issues with your geometry, but this is usually the issue people run into.)
Rays will lose energy much more slowly when a room is very reflective, but such conditions only really exist with polished painted concrete. I don't know how many such rooms you've ever been in. I can count them on one hand - and I've been to acoustic reverberation chambers on 3 continents.
Pachyderm works with a ray decimation algorithm. This means that a ray will be traced out to the cutoff time, unless it has lost enough energy that its further contribution to the impulse response is negligible. At this time, the ray is discontinued. So, the more absorption in the room, the less time it will take to run the simulation. So, more realistic absorption coefficients will allow a model to run in a more reasonable amount of time.
Gypsum board/Plasterboard will typically be between 8 and 11 percent at mid and high frequencies, and higher at low frequencies, for example. Concrete, unless polished and painted, is still a little porous, so you can probably make it 3 to 5 percent.
Regarding sources and receivers, adding more receivers adds almost nothing to calculation time (until the every end, when it extrapolates a pressure response, anyway). This is because the receivers are entered into a spatial partition system, which allows it to be done in an optimized way. Adding multiple sources will effectively multiply the calculation time by the number of sources, because the simulation needs to be repeated for each source individually.
Hopefully this helps you figure out how to run simulations with reasonable run times.

The picture below shows the two question.
Question One I must use data dam, or the component can't batch deal the brep. I don't know why, I have You can give me a solution to make it working normal not using the data dam
Question Two I can not uset the Button component, If I use it, the gh canvas will die with some mouse event--. I have see this problem before in this forum, but there is no solution and explain. I want to know why and How to solve it.
I don't know if I have made my question clear,if not give a message. Thank you! Thank you all.
The gh test file and 3dm test file in the upload files.

ncepts and features of Grasshopper at an accelerated pace in an instructor-led online environment.
Session Schedule: 9:00am-10:45am Lecture/Classwork Break 10:45am-11:00am 11:00am-12:30pm Lecture/Classwork 12:30pm-1:00pm Questions (optional participation)
Details: An outline of the class material is available here. The class will be conducted in English using the GoToTraining software. You will need Rhino 4.0 for Windows or the Rhino 5.0 for Windows beta installed. You will also need the latest build of Grasshopper. You may use the Rhino 4.0 for Windows evaluation version, however you will be limited to 25 saves. Using the Rhino for OSX WIP is not acceptable for this class.…
which are a little annoying to me in the scripting environment I would like to share with you:
- when you type in a command or object type and the pop up composer shows, you can hit return to fill out the command quickly. While doing that when you're adding something in the middle of a line (with some text already present to the right), the rest of the line will be deleted. I think this is something that changed around revision 10 or 11.
- when you type in 'New' it fills itself out to 'NewLineHandling' and with List and DataTree it adds brackets <>. I know hitting the Escape prevents this, but I don't know if there's an easy way to solve this.
- when you're using .item(i) and want to use some of the properties of an object, the pop up composer never shows up (BTW 'item' isn't even an option in those menu's), in order to have a small memory support what those commands are.
I don't know if it's too much to change, but it would a huge improvement. Specially if I have a look at all the people that came about these small issues to me already.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

TB of RAM. I think I'm going to start a GoFundMe campaign to buy one for myself :)
2- The server's cost is about $13 an hour. I get free access to supercomputer through my university and xsede.org because I earned an NSF Honorable mention last March, however, the supercomputers available through both resources are a little complicated for me to use, as opposed to the one available from amazon that has Microsoft server 2012 already installed.
3- I wanted to run 400 annual glare simulations for 400 different views.
4- I tried a to perform annual glare simulation for one view on my Dell XPS that has Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and 16GB of system memory. The simulation took 2 hours to complete. Radiance parameter ab was set to 6.
5- I wanted to obtain the batch file for each view so I can run them on the server. So I used the fly component to run all 400 simulations and closed the cmd windows, that wasn't bad ( for me at least) because I asked my son to this job for me, he was just glad to help me :)
6- I created one batch file using this cmd command:
dir /s /b *.bat > runall.bat
This created a file with the path to each .bat file. I edited this file in Notepad++ to include the word "start" at the beginning of each line. This was done using the "find and replace" dialogue box.
7- I split my newly created batch file into 3 batch files, each one has about 130 file names and " start" before the file names.
8- installed radiance on my server
9- Ran the first batch file on the server, this started 130 cmd windows performing my simulations, CPU usage was anywhere between 90% to 100% and about 105 GB of RAMs were used.
10. It took about 5 hours to complete all 130 simulations, I expected to run all in 2 hours but can't complain because this would've taken about 260 hours to run on my laptop. After the simulations done I ran the second and then the third batch files ( total of about 15 hours).
11. I got 400 valid dgb files. Couldn't be happier!
