ipe Pecegueiro Type of participants Students, graduate students, researchers, professionals Duration 2 days, Sat – Sun Prerequisites 1 / participants skills Experience in Rhino and Grasshopper; programming experience with Processing or Arduino IDE is recommended but not necessary Prerequisites 2 / hardware Participants should bring their own computer with Windows XP or 7 64 bit OS Prerequisites 3 / software Rhinoceros Version 4 sr9, Grasshopper 0.8.0050, Arduino IDE, Processing, Google Earth* *Software versions should be the most updated versions at the time of the workshop. Rhino 5 is also acceptable. Description An associative model is only as relevant as the information it seeks to manage. This workshop will engage the associative model by feeding it with real time and real world data captured through prefabricated sensor nodes known as the Ambient Sensor Kit (ASKit). The ASKit is an Open Hardware platform for personal data collection and sharing. The ASKit project is based on the premise that a personal understanding of the information around us is key to a sustainable and informed habitation of our environment. http://uask.it. Workshop participants will be working with Grasshopper, a generative, logic based design environment where participants will be able associate real world data to their models. Several other tools will be employed including Processing, Pachube, Google Earth, and gHowl (a set of custom components which extend the functionality of Grasshopper). This two day workshop will focus on a specific area in Berlin to understand, through data, the differences between the physical barriers and invisible forces which define certain urban functions. The participants will engage in: - environmental data collection - site surveying with open hardware/DIY electronics - data visualization and analysis - associative modeling with collected data Day 1: Demonstration of ASKit hardware platform for data collection and associative modeling. Data capture session in specific zones in Berlin. Data visualization and associative modeling in Grasshopper. Day 2: Focused Data Capture Session Directed projects applying associative modeling with collected data.…

ey tasks of the role are:
optimize the constructions on which we are bidding
execute modeling and structural calculations for the roofs, facades and constructions we are planning and designing
support the 3D-Planing-Team with detailed structural solutions of the constructions
be the in-house structural engineering specialist and represent the company on our exciting projects
The role is full time and would suit an engineer with experience in structural and digital design, perfect skills in Rhino and Grasshopper are required. The successful candidate can expect a competitive remuneration package and a dynamic work environment with opportunities to travel overseas and to progress your career. The position will be reporting to our Technical Director on a day-to-day basis with the links to our project managers and our sales and estimating teams. by arch.tualize and AWARE in partnership with the Städelschule Architecture Class (SAC), Frankfurt and will be held at the campus of SAC from 21 July – 1 August 2014. The lab engages students, architects, designers and game developers with four techniques of prototyping: designer-informed, analytics-driven, crowd-operated and sensor-actuated. Participants learn to use digital and parametric design tools and engage with feedback collected from simulation algorithms, online users and real-world sensors. The acquired knowledge will be applied to designing interactive prototypes ultimately exhibited at an open public exhibition at the Städelschule

This workshop will demonstrate the optimization of the robot data workflow from a digital parametric design to a physical geometry. In Grasshopper, the robot's end effector visualization, the generation of manufacturing and design variants for mass customization, and the necessary calculations for direct robot programming will be performed in real time providing instant design feedback. As a result of the parametric design process the KRL (KUKA Robot Language) code will be automatically generated. A KUKA robot will be used for physically producing the participants ́ parametric designs. The custom KUKA Plug In for Grasshopper/Rhino will be made available to all participants. Participants will be introduced to the concepts of production immanent design, manufacturing parametric designs, writing G-Code for CNC machining and controlling a KUKA robot using customized parametric design software (Grasshopper). Participants are strongly encouraged to produce their own individual designs within the 2-days ́ workshop: Using robot wire-cutting or CNC robot milling, a XPS stockmodel will be cut into stackable components resulting in a free form design. Day 1: Demonstration of the CAD to Robot workflow. Generating general G-Codes for CNC-Machines. First implementations in Grasshopper (Analyzing the existing design from the robot demonstration, required geometric input, G-Code output for Grasshopper). Hand Out Task 1: Custom parametric freeform design. Day 2: Individual support for task 1 (parametric design in Grasshopper). Task 2: Robot simulation of task 1 Robot manufacturing of individual designs.…

The master class seeks to introduce Rhino Python, the new cross-platform scripting environment for Rhino 5 (Mac and PC), which is based upon the popular and successful scripting language Python. The two day master class will cover basic python programming skills including language basics and programming paradigms in the context of showcase design applications. Also the master class will compare and show the differences to other Rhino programming environments such as RhinoScript or Grasshopper. The participants will learn how to create their own Rhino commands, how to develop own function libraries and object classes. In addition concepts on the organization of code in larger python development projects will be shared and discussed. Day 1 Learning the Language Basics : The python language syntax will be explained in depth and demonstrated in Rhino. Participants will be given several small tasks to apply the newly gained knowledge. Day 2 Development of a Larger Script : More advanced topics in the field of code development will be addressed. The participants choose a task from their daily practice. There will be individual support.…
be done easier, but later on the geometry will change and therefore this seems the better option. But coming back to the problem
First, there were some problems concerning the zone, although it seems solved still the “runenergysimulation” gives the following warning:
1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:
** Severe ** UpdateZoneSizing: Cooling supply air temperature (calculated) within 2C of zone temperature
Do one of you know what went wrong? It probably will solve most of it.
Second, “set Zone Thresholds” gives the following warning:
1. Solution exception:global name 'maxHumidity_' is not defined
However, the component is missing the max humidity input on the list, has this to do something with the error?
All the components are up to date.
I hope it will be an easy fix.
