Apologies in advance for my use of MS Paint.…
ifically: I have a 100' vertical plane lofted between curved top and bottom profiles. I contour it every 8' (normal direction is Z, giving me 13 horizontal curves). I use Divide Curve to divide each contour into 10 segments. The "Points" output of Divide Curve now yields 13 branches with 11 items each, corresponding to 13 contours with 11 points from the left end of the curve to its right.
I now want to string "vertical" lines, and connect all the 2nd items in each branch together, all the 3rd items, etc... in order to make a polyline that travels between each 2nd point or 3rd point. i don't want to use Cull Pattern/Nth/Index because the number of subdivisions could change (11 could become 20, etc).
How do I connect the Nth item of each branch in this tree? Moreover, how do I connect all values in a branch with their corresponding values in all other branches?
Thanks for any replies,
Richman Neumann

The thing is that if I raise the -aa parameter from 0.05 to 0.1 all works fine..
Is this only related to my PC then?? What should I do to solve this issue?
Thanks again for your help

imes. Your loop should go to y.Count - 1. Or, you could use a For...Each loop, circumventing the problem altogether:
Dim shortLines As New List(Of Line)
For Each segment As Line in y
If (segment.Length < x) Then
shortLines.Add(segment)
End If
Next
A = shortLines
--------------------------------
Another problem is this line of code:
New_Lines.Add(New_Line)
It is located inside the loop but outside the If statement, meaning it gets run every single iteration. This fills up the short line list with duplicates.
-------------------------------
Here's something else which is redundant:
Dim Input_Line As New Line
Apart from the fact that you don't need a special variable for this at all, you also don't need to add a New keyword. The type Line in RhinoCommon (just like Point3d, Vector3d, Plane, BoundingBox etc. etc.) are Structures, not Classes. Structures always exist when they are defined, whereas Classes can be null ("Nothing" in VB).
-------------------------------
Some more advice:
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To y.Count()
You can merge these two lines into one. VB.NET allows you to declare your iteration variable inside the loop:
For i As Integer = 0 To y.Count - 1
--------------------------------
If you don't like the For...Each approach at the top of this answer, here's how to write this using a For...To loop:
Dim shortLines As New List(Of Line)
For i As Integer = 0 To y.Count - 1
If (y(i).Length < x) Then
shortLines.Add(y(i))
End If
Next
A = shortLines
ps. A personal preference of mine is that I always encase the expressions inside If...Then statements in brackets. You technically don't need to do this, but I find it makes the code more readable.

got today. If you were thinking how to spend the extra hour we have some stuff for you that should take around 15 minutes!
Radiance recently released the new version of 4.2.1 and short after that we had several reports about having issues with generating .gif/.tiff files from .hdr images. It turned out to be a bug in Radiance. The great Greg (Ward) and Rob (Guglielmetti) fixed the issue in less than a day and now you can download the new version which works like a charm!
Here is the direct link and here is link to github release page. All you need to do is to download the new version and install it in C:\Radiance. It will replace the current version and you should be good to go.
(WARNING: As you can see, there is no "Program Files" in the installation path! Make sure to modify installation folder.)
OK. It should take you 10 minutes to read up to here and also install the new version of Radiance, but don't stop reading! There is one more thing that you need to do. The new version of gendaymtx in Radiance is also changed and we needed to modify genCumulativeSkyMtx component to handle the changes.
You need to replace the component manually. I will attach the UserObject to this discussion so you can download it and replace it with the current one. This video shows how you can do it in 13 seconds!
Done with installation! Here is some updates about development and resources:
If you are looking to get started with Ladybug here is some good news for you. With help of So Young, videos of the Ladybug workshop from UPenn are ready to watch. I personally think that the videos are slow, so I suggest you to watch it if you are a beginner with Grasshopper and need some videos to follow along while getting used to Grasshopper. If you want to watch shorter videos check Chris's video series for Ladybug and Honeybee here.
Also Chien Si is developing a number of components for advanced HVAC modeling using the OpenStudio component. If you have been waiting to model some real HVAC systems in a parametric environment and want to test it while it is getting developed, here is your chance! Right now he is working on air side systems.
I think my 15 minutes is over! Enjoy the rest of the extra hour and have a good week.
Cheers,
Mostapha…
ne diverse digital design methodologies and the use of different tools such as Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
Building up technical skills will provide the attendees with a solid platform from which to start rethinking and exploring innovative architectural ideas in collaboration with the team and the tutors.
URBAN FIELDS
Phase I
In the first part of the workshop attendees will be looking at field conditions and how to generate and design such fields that can help structure a possible urban condition in Florence.
We will be exploring dynamic systems, geometric systems and network theories to generate and design an abstract field condi- tion that extends the urban experience of the city onto the vertical dimensions of towers. Simple operations that would span variations from an initial state will give rise to high level of com- plexity.
The goal of this exercise is to create a rich and diversified intel- ligible urban space that can be later on subjected to local inter- ventions and zooming in to locally enhance each design.
AGENT - BODIES POLYMORPHISM
Phase II
The second part of the workshop will build upon first phase; par- ticipants will select one archetype (high rise tower) as a study model for further development.
Besides engaging with multi agent algorithms design strategies, attendees will address strategic utilisation of structurally and environmentally generated morphologies to design coherent and highly differentiated tower exo-skeletons.
Tutors will introduce agent-bodies polymorphism in order to explore the generation of structural aware and capable geom- etries through agent based formation of non-linear hierarchies and emergent patterns. These agent-bodies will operate in a complex spatial manner to form structure, partitions or enclo- sure and will operate across scales, creating a poly-scalar level of detail.
Attendees will speculate how autonomous systems can cre- ate new structures and intelligent distribution of structural elements, about new collaborative strategies of construction and the performativity they will evoke (performance, effects, responsiveness, interaction).
