Bastardized T trusses deviate a bit from theory ... but who cares? (not me anyway). T trusses have many variants (but as the greatest ever said: Less is More).

5. You'll need:
(a) A decision related with the tensioners (classic Norseman + SS cables or nylon machined thingies?).
(b) A machinist who can do elementary stuff (like the adapters) and can weld this to that (the "ring" for instance). His abilities must be 1 in a scale of 100. If the fella has a computer (not a CRAY) and he knows what 3dPDF is (hmm) ... well ... use that way to communicate with him PRIOR designing anything: He must agree on the parts BEFORE the whole is attempted (as a design in GH or in some other app).
(c) A carpenter with a wood lathe for the obvious. BTW: BEFORE doing any TDT attempt > ask the carpenter about the available wood strut sizes. Against popular belief DO NOT varnish the wood (use exterior alkyd/oil stains from some top maker like the notorious US company PPG).

Angeles, which has 12% of the year made comfortable, and Shiraz, Iran, which also has 12% comfortable (assuming default parameters).
Jerusalem also makes sense to me. There is only a maximum possible 9% of the year that is inside the polygon (you'll see this if you set the timeConstant to a very high number). The default strategyPar makes 6% of these hours comfortable and 3% without cool enough temperatures in the previous hours. This seems reasonable to me.
I could be convinced to change the default time constant to 12 hours (instead of 8) as I know that 12 is the default of climate consultant but that seemed really idealized in my opinion. You'll need really high exposed mass and insulation without much internal heat gain to make conditions stable for more than 8 hours in my opinion.
As for the solarHeatCapacity, I get changes when I drop it down to 10 W/m2 or boost it up to 100 W/m2. It's definitely a parameter that operates on an "order of magnitude" scale and little tweaks to it won't change it too much. You can think of this number as representative of a lot of other physical properties: most notably the depth of the space being passively heated and the thermal mass of that space's materials that participate in heat exchange over the time constant. Climate consultant uses a default assumption of 30 W/m2 but, from my calculations, this is likely assuming a space that has a facade to floor area ratio that is greater than 1. If we say that we need to raise the temperature of 10 cm of an exposed concrete floor for passive heating purposes, and we have a facade-to-floor area ratio of 1:
Required solar flux = ((1 facade-to-floor ratio) x (0.1 m3 of concrete) x (2400 kg/m3 concrete density) x (880 J/kg-K concrete specific heat capacity)) / 3600 seconds/hour
This lands you with a required solar flux of 58 W, which is almost twice the 30 W climate consultant default. While me might say that not all 10 cm of concrete participates over the course of a default 8-hour time constant (most of the action is probably within the first 5 cm), we also have to account for things like transmittance of solar though the window, which, for triple pane, is probably only half of the incident solar. So 50 W seemed to be a more reasonable rule of thumb from my perspective, essentially assuming a facade-to-floor ratio of roughly 1 with 5 cm of concrete participating in an 8 hour heat exchange and a little more than half of solar heat getting through a fully glazed window.

ly this is a Rhino.Python problem and not a Grasshopper issue, but it could apply to both!
I was trying to take a simple example of moving a ball around and see how it could be animated through Rhino.Python. The code works great in wire frame with now memory issues at all. However, when I switch the view to Shaded or Rendered, things go south pretty quickly. The RAM usage of Rhino which was steady around 350mb (ish) now grows every frame after a minute or so, it is in the GB's and never drops even after the script has stopped.What gives? Clearly this must be possible because Bongo does something similar when it does animations. Check out my code below and I would love to hear your thoughts.

ding is not for the faint of heart and is quite a significant understanding. However, I don't know what your dealing with, so that may be the way to go about it.
Your component if its "finished" has to supply some sort of results that are then used downstream. AFAIK there isn't a way to "prevent" down stream components from calculating until your finished. They have to get some sort of information or else they'll just be waiting. Considering how the results of those components are likely to be invalid until the information gets calculated, it may be better off supplying them with nulls until you have some actual information to give them.
Anyway, I think that you should think very closely about the structure of your routine, and specifically how it will interact and update itself. The way I'm thinking about it now is that there really isn't anything that's done in the "solve instance" function if you will. Essentially the "solve instance" function would either A) start the reading of the file if no data is found, or B) output some data if it is found. This is an extreme undersimplification, but the simpler you keep this the more likely this will work. Here are a few more "details", i guess, of how I could see this potentially working...
Thread A - Initial call to Solve Instance function
+ Check and see if there are any results that exist from reading your file - at this point there shouldn't be. These results should be stored in some sort of class variable that is accessible to both threads. It might also be a good idea to have some boolean flag that will also be accessible that represents whether your reading/writing those variables.
+ Fire a function in another thread that begins the read process. Note that you'll likely have to do this through a delegate and an invoke call, but I'm not 100% sure
+ Fill in some null values for the variables you must supply
+ Output the nulls, thus finishing the Solve Instance function
Thread B - File Read Function running in separate thread
+ Open up the file. Note that its probably a good idea just to pass the file path (as a string) between the different threads. Leave the creation of the file/text stream to the one thread that's using it.
+ Perform all the necessary reading from the file
+ Copy all your data to the variables that are accessible to both threads.
+ Expire either the solution on either the component in question or (at last resort) the whole canvas. I know expiring the whole canvas is defenitely possible, but it should be possible to just expire the one component that's doing the reading.
Thread A - "Second" call to Solve Instance after being manually expired
+ Check and see if there are any results that exist from reading your file, which there now should be.
+ Output those shared results
+ Clear the last results (or cache them in some way) so that the next time the Solve Instance function is fired, you don't find any results and reread the file.
I think there are a few variations to this that could happen too, including having a separate function for reading and writing through the data that's called using its own delegate/invoke call to make sure that its extra safe.
If you haven't already, you should really look into event driven programming, delegates, and asyncronous messaging. These are going to be the 3 things that you'll need to have a decent hold on to make sure this things works. Just to let you know, debugging these things can be a bitch.…

I scaled that mesh just to fit Rhino grid, but it is not mandatory. What is useful, is to scale not uniformly the mesh (Scale NU). It could be done after cellular modifier applied or before or before and after. The 3 options are possible in the script. If you don’t need them just put 1 in scale sliders.
Ellipsoid mesh is the populated with points, I put 2 independents populations to randomize a bit further. For each vertices of the mesh the closest distance from the populated points is calculated.
Here is an illustration in color of this distance.
This distance is then used to calculate a bump. If domain for bump is beginning with negatives values to 0, it carves the mesh. Instead it bumps/inflates it.

The PC actually stops working because after a few seconds the simulation starts the fan inside the PC all of a sudden stops and for the next 5-10 mins I cannot do anything, even alt+ctrl+canc. After I wait for that time i get the followig error:

he example file to this file so you can give it a try with any version of Honeybee that you're already using. The only requirement is to have OpenStudio installed as the component is using OpenStudio libraries to parse gbXML files. If you're using the latest version available on github the component is also available under WIP tab.
Why?
The main purpose of developing this component is to save time and effort for importing Revit models for energy and daylight analysis. It bothers me to see a lot of smart people spend a lot of time to just come up with solutions just to get the geometry from Revit to Honeybee for analysis. This component is not solving all the issue but is a first step forward. In an ideal world, the future version of Honeybee, which works both under DynamoBIM and Grasshopper should address this issue but that can take some time to be fully ready!
How?
To use this component you need to Export your Revit model as gbXML and then use the file path to load the file into Grasshopper. There are several resources available online on how to prepare the analytical model in Revit and export the gbXML file. Here is an image for importing the Revit 2017 sample model using the default settings. As you can see the model will be just as good as what your original gbXML file from Revit is.
What can be improved?
Well, there are several items that can be improved and they are mostly not on us. To get it started I add what I think are the 3 main shortcomings and my thoughts on how they can be addressed in the future. Feel free to add what you think needs to be added to this list in the comments section.
1. Revit analytical models and as the results gbXML files, by design, are not intended to be clean. Watch this presentation from the Autodesk University to see the logic behind this approach which in short is it doesn't matter for a large scale early stage energy model. Well, This will be quite a problem for studies that you can do with Honeybee. Included but not limited to daylight and comfort analysis.
The best solution that I can think of, until Autodesk fixes their exporter, is to use Revit Rooms and Spaces and generate a clean model from the scratch. We have already tried this approach in Revit but since the Revit API doesn't provide access to Room openings we had a very hard time to get it to work.
That's why that I opened an idea on Revit ideas to get over this issue. With your support we already have 81 votes, but it hasn't been enough to make them to consider the idea for an official review. If you haven't voted already and you think this will be a helpful feature take a moment and vote so we can have it implemented at some point in the future.
2. There is no way (that I know) to export only part of the model. The way export gbXML is set up in Revit is to export the whole model once together. As a result, if you have a huge model with 100 rooms and you want to get one of the rooms into Honeybee using this component you have to export the whole model, which can take some time, and then import them all back into Grasshopper. To partially address this issue I added an input to the component that allows you input a list of names for rooms that you're interested to be loaded into Grasshopper. You can use the name of the room/space in Revit as an input for the component.
3. The component doesn't import adjacencies, loads, schedules and HVAC systems. I wasn't able to export a gbXML file from Revit with any of this data except for the adjacency, but even if you can do that, the component currently can only import geometries and constructions. I hope we get access to 1 and so we don't have to use the xml file approach at all, but if that takes a very long time then we will add these features to the component.
