2:同じファンクション内のdist = rs.Distance(self.pos,b.pos)についてですが
which almost works...
I have 5 integer values in one string:
- When my input is the string "(25,0,0,0,175)" it is not assigned at all
- when my input is the string "25,0,0,0,175" it is assigned as 25000175 :)
- when my input is the string "25|0|0|0|175" it is assigned as 191 which is completely confusing :)
Can anyone point me into correct syntax of input string to be correctly parsed as a set of integers? I'm accessing Rhino+GH from external app so I can format the input in any appropriate way, yet I cannot directly modify the GH script that uses these Integer Parameters as a way to handle input.

ere (http://blog.maideinc.com/). I also posted up our future designs to bring over commands from Rhino to the iPad, so you can customize your own menu's.
Let me know if you guys have any feedback on how we planned to do it.
Cheers,
Oleg.

formance issue.
Reasons why I don't want to change the Integer parameter:
1) what about Number, and String, and Boolean, and Point, and Vector, and Line... should they also display the value? Or is the integer parameter supposed to be different from all the others?
2) what if you have multiple values inside a parameter. Should it grow to display them all? Should it grow to display only the first ten? Should it automatically switch to Icon-display?
3) would value display be a fourth kind of display type (alongside Name, Icon and App-default)?

2. Even cooler would be to make some kind of presentation preview. (GH disappears, rhino goes to fullscreen mode with somehow integrated remote panel). I like to watch apps/scripts made with processing, where sliders are really minimalistic.
3. Presentation preview may be optionally locked with password.
I realize that GH isnt processing, but this would be nice addition.

r visual programming tools in the games world. MS's Kodu, looks interesting. Kismet and Visual3d look even more interesting..... mainly because they are more 'interactive' or 'reactive', rather than DAG-based.
Seems like the evolution path for GH-similar apps is:
1. base 3d or CAD app based on C/C++ code.
2. Add scripting language interface
3. Add some kind of visual interface
4. Add graph sorting / propagation engine
5. Re-jig base 3d or CADD app to make managed/interpreted scripts run faster, multi-threaded.
6. Add dynamic typed language, DLR stuff
6. ....
6. Add constraints solver...?
7. Rebuild CAD display engine to be procedural at the GPU level?
Seems like there are available tools for converting scripts into some kind of flowchart. There are even visual debuggers. MS even has something called the 'Debugger Canvas'. Spreadsheet constraints.
Seems like the time is ripe for lots of new apps like GH.

to run at full screen. I've gone as far as using an iPad to use as the second monitor via AirDisplay (which actually works really well) but have never been satisfied with any setup that required you to look back and forth as if at a tennis match all day long.
Not long after first using Grasshopper 3+ years ago I've had the desire for a "Live Viewport" component that would allow a live image of the 3d geometry being generated directly in the canvas. Every once in a while I search the forums with the hope of finding a solution, but always come up empty handed. Someday this might exist although for now I have found what might be the next best thing to a native "Live Viewport" component and its enabled with a small app named Sticky Previews. This app uses the task bar preview feature within Windows 7's aero interface to create custom, floating preview windows from any open window currently running. I've only just discovered the app, but it seems to do the trick and has been stable and problem free so far. -- I will post an update if I find out that I might have spoken too soon. The install allows for a 30 day trial and is $15 bucks to purchase. I just found the app and don't know anything about this group that created the app. If you happen to know of them, Id be curious to find out more.

nd me to kill him but give him my regards anyway) is still around in BirdAir Italy ... talk with him.
3. Hope that you understand that designing the "details" means some decent MCAD app + FEA + this + that. "Fusing" this with some abstract graphic editor like GH ... is ... er ... impossible (in real-life, you know, he he ). Generative Components on the other hand may qualify but requires a lot of time in order to fully master it (approx 2-4 years).
4. FormFinder ... well ... that's utterly Academic but on the other hand ... (good luck).

My realistic (low cost) advise:
use K1/2 (especially if you are after "parametric" exploitation(s)) ... and then diversify tasks: stuff for the structural department, stuff for whom claims that he can(?) design the "details" ... whilst be in a constant contact with the membrane provider (and in fact: the contractor for doing the real thing as well)

just the geometry. I think this may be of interest to many, not only for Peacock users, so I did it in a separate project.
