rsity building with 81 thermal zones. I wanted to use this model on my master thesis, but I am afraid I won't be able. So I would really appreciate some help.
The purpose was to set different insulation thicknesses and glazing types depending on the orientation. Therefore I created every zone by using "createHBsrfs" components. At the same time different zones would have different "building programs".
I created all the zones, I added windows as "child surfaces" for every zone. And I created the adjacencies. No errors or whatsoever.
But from this point I cannot connect the model to any other component without GH being frozen. So although the model is correct maybe it is to heavy for the software, however I am not sure if that is the reason.
Is it stupid what I have done? Is there any easier way to accomplish my purpose?
Any thought or help will be much appreciated.
I attach the GH file.
Thank you,
Eduard

nitions prior to Karamba are to allow the genes to manipulate the form of the shell and then kangaroo to relax the form to its "equilibrium" state.
The definition, as attached, runs fine over one iteration. However, when I run the Galapagos solver, rhino slowly uses up my computers memory and then ultimately crashes (around 80 Galapagos iterations). I don't think that the surface patch, or kangaroo are the issue, as I have run other iterative definitions through them without issue.
I believe Karamba may be occupying memory each iteration that is not released when a new iteration begins. This problem is exasperated by the fact that I am running 11 load cases, 9 of which are point loads defined over each vertex of the mesh. I ran a definition with only one load case, and it reached 170 generations (with a population of 50 for each generation). However, at this point it had occupied 90% of my computer's available memory.
Do you know of a way to ensure that Karamba purges its memory after an iteration, or is this a possible memory leak bug?
Thanks again, any help you can provide is much appreciated.

p; 3D Urban ModelingOn the topography subject I get the next message: "One or more boundaries may be outside the bounds of the topo dataset" I'm not sure if it's the .IMG file I'm loading since I found so many IMG files nearing my polyline area (Miami Lat:26 Lon:-81 aprox.) or maybe my polygon doesn't match the topo area? I have no idea why it isn't working :(On the Shapefile subject, haven't been able to find a Building Height SHP File, so far have downloaded around 8 SHP files which only contain Polylines, my solution is to meanwhile randomize Z heights, but of course this data is not "technically" correct.P.S.: I've already tried all example links and also the ones posted by you and Benjamin in this video.Been strugling last few days, hope you can help me, thanks in advance!!…

pts organize in a data tree without losing the data structure. To create a folding surface as per image attach.
1. Replace items (to create a gradient) / Like the weight culling example.
Path {0} replace all indexes with a new value (a)
Path {1} replace 90% indexes with a new value (a)
Path {2} replace 80% indexes ...
2. Decrease value (a) in relation to path number
3. After Replace the above items value with
for even path number {0,2,...} replace items with a negative number
Did not find a easy way to create data tree that would achieve the above inside GH.
Point 2 & 3 are easy but i could not found a simple solution for points 1.
At the moment the only way i found is to create the list in Excell manually and import/ export or to create a list on indices for each path.
Any hint appreciated.
Might need to wait for the number slider or path mapper to accept input or notation ?

Gone are the days of faking a user interface by laying out sliders and text panels and hiding wires on the Grasshopper canvas. Human UI interfaces are entirely separate from the Grasshopper canvas and leverage the power of Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), a graphical subsystem for rendering user interfaces in the Windows environment.
OLD NEW
In other words: Human UI makes your GH definition feel like a Windows app. Create tabbed views, dynamic sliders, pulldown menus, checkboxes, and even 3D viewports and web browsers that look great and make sense to anyone--including designers and clients with no understanding of Grasshopper.
Human UI has been in development at NBBJ for over a year, as part of a larger NBBJ Design Computation initiative to deliver our tools internally as Products -- with fully automated installation, managed dependencies, analytics, documentation, and “magical” user experience. Human UI has been a huge component of the user experience part of this puzzle, and we are excited to share it with the larger Grasshopper community so that others can benefit from it and contribute to its development.
The initial release of Human UI is accompanied by a few simple examples to get you started, but we have developed sophisticated user interfaces with these tools at NBBJ and will slowly be rolling out more advanced examples. We also look forward to opening up the development to the community and seeing what new features and paradigms we can add.

The sg2012 challenge, Material Intensities, is intended to dissolve our notion of the built environment as inert constructions enclosing physically sealed spaces. Spaces and boundaries are abundant with vibration, fluctuating intensities, shifting gradients and flows. The materials that define them are in a continual state of becoming: a dance of energy and information.Material potential is defined by multiple properties: acoustical, chemical, electrical, environmental, magnetic, manufacturing, mechanical, optical, radiological, sensorial, and thermal. The challenge for sg2012 Material Intensities is to consider material economy when creating environments, micro-climates and contexts congenial for social interaction, activities and organisation. This challenge calls for design innovation and dialogue between disciplines and responsibilities.sg2010 Working Prototypes strove to emancipate digital design from the hard drive by moving from the virtual to the actual in wrestling with the tangible world of physical fabrication. sg2011 Building the Invisible focused on informing digital design with real world data. sg2012 Material Intensities strives to energise our digital prototypes and infuse them with material behaviour. They have the potential to become rich simulations informed by the material dynamics, chemical composition, energy flows, force fields and environmental conditions that feed back into the design process.

ss lots of questions,Hope guys show me some more different ways to figure out thoes kinds of problems,Thanks.
That is a construction project, the balconies should be overhang between 1 to 3 meters.
Program A is a patten consist of increasing balconies as the floors get upper.(In the picture is 29 at the first floor and ended with 2 more balconies for each floor, )Each part for a different floor, the twelfth floor have 29+(12-1)*2=51 balconies.
Questions From A,
A1:How to use the {(series)} to creat this atrium,As the floors increase the number of the balconies change by arithmetic progression.
A2:How to control the angle of the balconies, both the angle with floor and the balconies ending part.
Program B is use line to shape the commercial atrium, program A is more small pieces of rectangles. The {(TweenCrv)} command.
Questions From B,
B1:How to draw random points between the 1 to 3 meters region of the balcony,And those point form a shape also belongs to that region.
B2:Use a curve or other ways to control the changing speed of each floors' balcony.Right now the balcony is a Linear change.
Thanks for your Help.
Q1:Is there a way in Grasshopper to control the model to Modulus, less different unit parts to build such a Atrium.(For Exanple, only use 900mm and 600mm two different width of the Glass railings to bulid the model A OR B)…

Public spaces have been for a while the periphery of our daily life. We will explore in this workshop how we can manipulate and alter people’s perception and direct their attention to how these spaces are integral for city life. This exploration will be backed up by intensive technical tutorials introducing computational design and fabrication techniques and tools mainly Rhino, Grasshopper, Geco and Ecotect. Not only will this be the typical technical workshop, but rather you will also have the chance to be guided step by step on how these tools are used through out different design stages in a real world scenario. Design prototypes will be produced through 3D printing, the main workshop output will be a fabricated one to one functional model for one of the designs using our new in-house CNC machine.
