do it? can someone help me out?
here, i tried listing out all the divided points of the 3 curves to get a list of values to interpolate. but, if i try that, i am able to only list out the points of AB and CD. so, i used two lists to get divided points, first list of AB, CD and second of CD, EF. but, then, how do i join the list and interpolate the curves?…
can be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\McNeel\Rhinoceros\5.0\Plug-ins\IronPython\settings\lib\rhinoscript" folder on WinXP. So could have used yours too.
RhinoCommon is a SDK and basically the power behind grasshopper and rhinoscriptsyntax functions. In fact each time you call a rhinoscriptsyntax, a RhinoCommon code gets executed.
And, yes:
import Rhino - imports RhinoCommon
import utility - enables importing utility.coercebrep() (or coerce3dpoint() coercecurve() ... so on)
Item access means an input is consisted of a single item.List access means an input is a list.Tree access means an input is consisted of a tree with data on different branches.rs.BooleanDifference requires both of it's arguments to be lists, so it would be logical to set the inputs b1 and b2 as lists. But there is one problem, that Mitch pointed out to me: it seems that python components (like grasshopper components) are "intelligent", and can distinguish whether you are inputting item, list, or tree. Setting your input as list, might disable this ability and leave you with only possible type of input (list).So honestly I do not know why in this case, setting the inputs to Lists worked - due to mentioned "intelligence" of python component, even an Item type would work.This might be a question for an experienced user, I am just a beginner.…
assume we want to format two numbers, one integer and a floating point value. The integer represents an index and it should appear inside square brackets, then we want the floating point number rounded to a maximum of 4 decimal places (but always using at least one decimal place, even if it's zero), and then, in parentheses a scientific notation representation using 8 decimal digits of the number.
So, assuming the index is 16 and the value is 47.280006208, what we are after is:
[16] 47.28 (4.72800062E+001)
To make this work, we need a formatting pattern that looks like:
[{0}] {1:0.0###} ({1:E8})
The square brackets, spaces and parenthesis are just part of the output, they have no meaning whilst formatting. Everything inside the curly brackets though will be replaced with a specific formatting of one of the values.
When using the Format component as shown above, the formatting pattern is just text data. The component knows that it is supposed to use the Format() function using the pattern text and whatever additional data is provided.
When you invoke the Format() method in an expression, you do need to make sure that the pattern is actually text:
So here the pattern needs to be encased in double quotes, otherwise it will be treated as code, rather than text.
You cannot use the formatting method in the internal expression of a number parameter, because this method returns text, whereas the number parameter is only capable of storing numbers. Any expression that you put into a number parameter had better return numbers as a result.…
be done easier, but later on the geometry will change and therefore this seems the better option. But coming back to the problem
First, there were some problems concerning the zone, although it seems solved still the “runenergysimulation” gives the following warning:
1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:
** Severe ** UpdateZoneSizing: Cooling supply air temperature (calculated) within 2C of zone temperature
Do one of you know what went wrong? It probably will solve most of it.
Second, “set Zone Thresholds” gives the following warning:
1. Solution exception:global name 'maxHumidity_' is not defined
However, the component is missing the max humidity input on the list, has this to do something with the error?
All the components are up to date.
I hope it will be an easy fix.

I know) and you can even find similar examples in the OF tutorials (like the Dam case).
In that sense, yes Butterfly is able to handle that. Coupled with Rhino/GH makes BF able to provide a link to a very good 3D modelling environment and to parametric possibilities (e.g. see the effect of changing the radius of the pipe, and so on).
That said, such cases might require considerable experience in meshing, running and post-processing. It's a bit out of my expertise since I focus mainly on the built evironment. However, apart from the OF tutorials (you can find them in your OF installation folder, search for dam) there's a lot of information about all this in cfd-online.
Good luck, let us know how it goes!

orking in Grasshoper v0.9.00xx (I tried, 9.0010 and 9.0014)
If I try this code
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
System.Globalization.CultureInfo oldCI = new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US");
Object objExcel;
objExcel = System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject("Excel.Application");
objExcel.Cells(2, 1).Value = "titleA";
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I see, the message
" Error: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'Worksheets' (line 95) "
Line 95 is the last one < objExcel.Cells(2, 1).Value = "titleA"; >
I've also tried,
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application xlApp;xlApp = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application) System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject("Excel.Application");
But GH C# says
Error: The type or namespace name 'Office' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?) (line 89)
What did I wrong??

an be given as 88° and 95°. All three angles must sum up to 180, and we're already 3 degrees over balance. Or maybe the user specifies three edge-lengths: 21, 12 and 8. 21 is bigger than 12+8, so even if the triangle was stretched flat, the two short edges cannot reach the ends of the long edge. The above is easy to test for and I add errors to the component if an invalid triangle is provided. However there are also many angle+edge length combinations which result in invalid triangles.
I could of course test for these as well, but the problem is now tolerance. What if the user specifies a redundant angle of 54.7°, whereas the mathematics tell us that the actual angle is 54.7002°. Is that an error? If so, is the angle wrong or is perhaps one of the edges wrong? Or has the triangle simply been over-constrained? Is there a mathematically robust way of dealing with this? And if so, would that also be the most user-friendly way of dealing with it?…
